I disagree. I don't think you are entitled to privacy in open public places. Not without outlawing photography etc. in those places completely.
And it has nothing to do with doing anything wrong. That applies to privacy, in which doesn't exist out on the street.
Then why do film crews need a permit to film in public areas? Why do the people they film have to sign waivers or permission contracts?
And it's not just because they make money. Several non-profit documentaries are made that still need permits and permission forms.
To use someones likeness in film you have to get their permission. That isnt an issue of privacy.
You aren't having anything taken away from you from this. Get over it. "People could virtually follow home" is rediculous. Even if it was updated in real time and that were possible, guess what, they can't go in your home. They can't get any information from you other than what they could if they were walking down the street. Now, I ask you this seriously, would you rather have some weirdo online see your house from google street view, or have some weirdo in the real world see you at the mall and follow you home?
