So, I went to go see Ghost Rider yesterday, and i have to say it was pretty decent. There were some parts with bad acting, but that comes with Nicholas Cage. I didn't know much about Ghost Rider so i didn't get to criticize it as much as i do most of the other Marvel movies, but i bought some of the comics off ebay to read (by the way, they're really cheap, i got the newest version of the comic issues 1-6 for under 15 bucks). I've also heard they are already working on Ghost Rider 2, which im look forward to.
Anyway, if you are looking to see a movie in theaters right now, and aren't fan of horror/thrillers like Hannibal Rising. Ghost Rider, i believe, is a pretty decent choice. What do you guys think?

I enjoyed it, but I like Nicholas Cage. I went last night to the Cinerama, which is a huge theater with a cool sound system. There were only about 10 other people since it was a Thursday night and we all seemed to have a good time.

Am I the only one who just doesn't get the appeal of Ghost Rider? I mean.. really? Am I? I saw ads for it and thought "Well... that's fantastic... I guess now all we're really waiting for is the Aquaman movie, since Hollywood's already kind of scraping the bottom the bottom of the superhero barrel."
I mean, aren't there better superheroes? Like, I don't get how they make the jump from Superman, Batman, and the X-men to Ghostrider.
I mean, he's kind of on the really lame side of the cool/lame scale.

LIZARD_B1TEThat's true lol!
But, dude, his skull is fucking ON FIRE!
It's like a little 70's or 80's metalhead teen fantasy of what a hardcore comic character should be.
-"A guy RIDING a black motor bike, wearing a LEATHER JACKET, with chains and a SKULL FOR A HEAD! And get this man... you ready for it? This'll kill ya:
his head IS ON FIRE! DUDE, can you believe it? Sheyeah! freak'n hardcore man, ROCK ON!"
-"You are a fucking dork dude. Don't talk to me. Ever again."

And I'll prolly go see Ghost Rider either next weekend or today depending on whether or not I work today. The previews made it look fucking badass as hell.

guess what? That's exactly what it is. It is a 70's comic, after all. But I don't find anything wrong with that, and if that's the way the movie is, I'm eager to watch it. I do believe wish-fulfillment is an integral part of superhero fiction.

Hahaha.
Well a friend of mine told me this was a good movie. I probably won't see it in theaters but I might rent it when it comes out.

I haven't seen it, and I've heard mixed reactions.
But He Who I Will Not Name is in it, and I hate him with the passion of a thousand galactic balls of burning stuff, especially after what he did to poor Wickerman, the original was one of my favourite films ever, next the Italian Job and Lay Killers, which they also raped. Why do they always pick the ones I love? WHHHHHHY?
Then again, his HEAD IS ON FIRE!

I was a follower of the 90's New GR comics...So I was iffy about seeing the movie myself.
I did read some of the earlier GR comics, and liked them. But I was attached to Dan Ketch and having Blaze there as kinda a Dark Father Figure.
So I took my daughter to see it last Friday and her friend as well.
Gotta say over all I enjoyed the movie. They melded the two series well, the old character with the new appearance..melding the powers from both versions of the character. I found that I loved Sam Elliot's Ghost Rider better than the bike riding Nick Cage version. something about a cowboy on a skeletal horse...or maybe that's just me!
There WERE parts where I was writhing and hiding my head in shame because of how they slew some of the darkest parts of Blaze's and GR's characters. That was one of the things I loved about the comic...how DARK GR was...I mean like five comics into the series GR's host gets his throat torn out! EEP! GR has to possess him until such a time that he can get Dan to help!
This would have been better to be a serious horror movie than a "Marvel Formula" film. I wish they would have been so bold. Blaze is not a "comedic" character...not even in the manic way in which Nick Cage pulls it off.
I will most certainly buy it...can't leave my collection without some GR in it. I think I am going to break out my comics and immerse myself in the mythos again!
