All you have to do is remove Garfield's dialogue. Then it becomes a comic about a pathetic, neurotic guy who talks to his ordinary cat.

Pure genius.
Easy to do if you go through the archive and find a black and white one... then MS paint is all you need.

I think there was a discussion on the forum here a few years back about the idea that Jon is a schizophrenic who thinks his animals could talk. No one thought to do something with the comics at the time, though.

These are gold and much funnier (and edgier) than the real comic. The last comic posted where Jon just goes off on Garfield really caught me off-guard, though. Wonderful.

No, Garfield sucks. I don't care if Bill Murray was in a fursuit playing him in the movie, it would still not be funny. The comic strips represent everything we should strive as artists to never do.

Garfield the movie was an incredibly wasted oppurtunity - everything was even more generic and bland than the cartoon has become, especially the Liz/John relationship.
