Has this topic already been created? It wasn't on the first page... Sorry, I'm new.

Anyways, there's one game that comes to mind: "Final Fantasy: Crisis Core". Oh man, I bawled my eyes out during that game. But then again, I am a crybaby.

Sakura Taisen probably got the closest. I can't think of anything I actually cried to, though. Most games get too broken up by the gameplay to make me reall care about the characters. The Sakura Taisen games, though, were almost entirely story, so things were a little different. I'm surprised to see that NIS actually picked up the fifth game and will be releasing it soon. Now if only Sega would remake 2 and have NIS release a Memorial pack with the other four games.

Not that I'm that desperate, five was the only one that didn't have a translation faq, still it would be nice to hav versions I can play again. My old Memorial Set is for the Dreamcast and that died on me years ago.

Never cried at a video game, although I'll probably weep a single, manly tear once I finally beat Final Fantasy 1(Been playing it for 15 years).

I can't say any game has made me cry before... though I've been touched on occasion.

Cry like in because I was touched by a moment in a video game?

When Chrono was revived in Chrono Trigger (SNES). Not really cried, but my eyes got a little watery...

Also, the ending of Kingdom Hears (first one) is kinda sad...

However, Daikatana and WWE Crush Hour were so bad that I cried of pure rage...

The ending of Rule of Rose hit a nerve with me, don't know why. I'm sure a puppy being involved didn't help. :( Didn't really cry though.

Yeah, how about some "movies/games that made you laugh" topics? Or even naming things that piss you off. XP

I wouldn't say "Cry" But several moments in the Ace Attourney series tugged at my emotions (the end of T&T and Appolo Justice, and all that harassment of Adrian Andrews). Also, there were quite a few moments in Cave Story (during my first playthrough, anyway).

And of course Companion Cube ;_____;

never actually cried, but there a few close calls (spoilers, naturally, abound):

Persona 4:
Nanako's death

Final Fantasy 7: Red XIII learning the truth about his father

Silent Hill 2:
Both times James said "I don't need you anymore", first to the two Pyramid Heads and then to Maria at the end.

Admittedly, that last one is more of "tears of awesomeness and fulfillment" than anything else.

*Spoilers*

The end of MGS4 where Otacon is telling Sunny about Snake's absence. Really well done, I think.

***

Also, the bad ending in Persona 4. You fight alongside your friends for so long and then it just ends abruptly with failure. What gets me is the part when the hero has to leave and he's watching his friends at the station while the train pulls away. You're just leaving them and their town to their fate, drowning in the futility of it all.

"You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process," he added. "That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle."

I was just about to say the same thing.

General discussions has moments that made you cry and Media discussions has movies that made you cry.

I don't think I've ever experienced a moment where I've cried over a game but some guys say that this moment from Final Fantasy IIV is a time where they cried over a game character.

Now granted that the graphics haven't aged that gracefully, it was still considered top notch back in the days. And while this moment seems sobby, take into consideration that by the time this happens, you've been playing this game for hours where the relationship between your main character and that female character had been slowly developing over the time.
Those were my two cents.

Everybody's weepy this month.

For me, the Leave Ending of Silent Hill 2 was beautifully done,
with Mary forgiving James, and the true length of Mary's letter.
"As you read this, I'm already gone." That letter really got to me.

Another Silent Hill one is Silent Hill 3-
when Heather finds her dead father in the apartment.

A lot of the 1000 years of memories in Lost Odyssey are very sad, but story wise, Kaim finding out that the daughter he thought commited suicide is now a young woman, but he only finds her on her death bed with his grandchildren who've been looking after her.
and also
Seth remembering her friendship with another Immortal that ended tragically, when Cooke finds her crying to herself on the ships deck.

Silent Hill 2 ending.

That's the only ending I've ever received. The conditions required to unlock that ending is exactly the way I tend to play games like that and since it also happens to be the only one that's considered to be the "happy" ending, it suits me fine.

That embeding of yours doesn't seem to be working so I'll post a link to it instead.

Silent hill "happy" ending.
Those were my two cents.

Gears of War 2; when Marcus found Maria. Never cried at a Silent Hill game though. Final Fantasy X when those soldiers were wiped out by Sin, and you're walking amongst the bodies was kinda touching too. Other Final Fantasy games have greatly moved me, to include Aeris' death, but it was usually anger and/or excitement. I didn't cry when she died, but man oh man was I angry.
God needed the Devil, the Beatles needed the Rolling Stones, Hakoshen needs me.
I'm the enemy he requires to define him.
Soon or later, he'll bring me back to life again for another epic encounter of shouting about power levels and grimacing.

Games that made me cry tears...

1. The ending of Lunar Silver Star Story. It was an all-around happy ending; I cried because it was over.

2. The ending of Shadow of the Colossus. It's not that it was sad (maybe a little bit), but just that it was done so well, so moving, like a movie.

3. Don't know if this counts... the ending of the Fate branch of Fate/Stay Night. I wasn't even playing the game. I was just reading the game text on a word document.

The end of Jet Force Gemini nearly made me cry.
I mean, when floyd died it was kinda sad, but then they simply carried on escaping from the exploding asteroid, while pieces of floyd scattered everywhere. No ";_; I'm so sad he's gone." AND THEN They got back to Earth to recieve medals (Clearly Floyd gets no credit) and then just to rub salt in his robot wounds, they decide to have a funky disco party!

I nearly cried ):
THIS NEW SITE SUCKS I'M LEAVING FOREVER I PROMISE, GUYS.

Never cried at a game but the scene in Ico when Ico and Yorda are finally escaping on the bridge and are separated when Yorda's ma shows up tugged at the heart strings more than I suspected it would.

Never cried due to sadness in a video game, although watching the Freelance Astronauts play-through of "Seaman" on the Dreamcast had me in tears of laughter at one time or another

One game came close (this one was due to sadness), Passage, no tears but it came close. Also it's free to download [hcsoftware.sourceforge.net]

Out of all of the games here, this one could be the saddest.

I'd have to mention Shadow of the Colossus. The ending was fairly obvious as the game went on, but it didn't lessen the blow one bit when it hit. Cried like a motherfucker.

Gears of War 2; when Marcus found Maria.

Tater and I were doing co-op when this happened and it just resulted in a boatload of jokes.

"Hey Dom you wanna go pull some levers or cry about your dead wife all night?"

"I think what you're forgetting Dom, is my wife isnt dead."

"Dont worry Dom we'll get your wife outta' here OH WAIT THATS RIGHT"

"Your wife is dead, Dom"

Second best thing about that game was that I had to drive that huge car mid-way through the story. So being a horrible driver, I would keep sinking it and getting everyone killed. It just so happened that it would load up again at the exact point your partner would yell "NICE DRIVIN' MARCUS".
