I'm curious about how many people on here have played the computer game from the 90's "Full Throttle". If yes, did you like? What did you think of it?
Personnally, I loved it, I was a kid when I played it first, and took me a hell of a time to figure out many situations. However, when you've done it once, the other times you can do the game in about 30-45 minutes :(

God yes, Full Throttle is one of my favourites. The combat was kind of awkward though. Combat seems to be a big problem for Tim Schafer games.
And, although I'm pretty sure everyone on the internet knows this by now, Psychonauts was apparently born from Full Throttle when Lucasarts/film (I forget which it was at that pont) forbid him to put a drug sequence in, and the scene eventually mutated into a full game.
This is one of the major failing points of Adventure Games. It's usually not worth playing through them more than once, possibly twice if it's as hilarious as Monkey Island.

Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.

Full Throttle was actually the first adventure game I ever played :-D My brother bought it thinking it was a racing game (none to bright is he) and was quite let down so I started playing it (cause back then kinda like now I sucked at any game that you couldn't take your time over) and got addicted. This was before I had internet too meaning the game took months to finish without a walk-though to back me up. I wouldn't say it is the best adventure game of time (the previously mentioned Monkey Island holds that title currently and I think it may do for a long time yet) but it's pretty damn high up there, in my top 5 and the reason I ended up getting addicted to adventure games :-D
I did hear about the whole 'psychonauts was based on a banned drug trip scene in full throttle' thing but I never knew it was true, I thought someone was just trying to pull my leg! Awesome.

Full Throttle along with Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island was the reason why Lucas Arts dominated the game business back in the days. Those games were solid 24k gold.
It may sound like nostalgia talking but even when you replay those games today, you can really see the quality behind them, despite their age.
I was listening to Zero Punctuation about the latest Monkey Island installment and one thing that he said caught my attention.
This is sadly true. My impression of the later games is that they try so hard to be like the old games that they completely fail at containing the charm that the older ones have. Although maybe that's just my own inner fanboy speaking out, insisting that the sequels can never measure up to the originals, no matter how hard they try.

"The problem with the later installments, as the usual one that occurs when a series has been in cryogenics for few years, is that the new developers are almost always fans, who in their eagerness to show "respect" for their beloved franchise, prefer to lavish it in tongue baths, implace of any significant evolution."

Those were my two cents.
