he M200G Volantor is a consumer-ready version of a flying saucer-style hovercraft, designed by aeronautics engineer Paul Moller. The vehicle is envisioned as a precursor to the Moller Skycar M400. The M200G Volantor uses a system of eight computer-controlled fans to hover up to 10 feet (3 m) above the ground. Volantor is a term coined by Moller meaning "a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that is capable of flying in a quick, nimble and agile manner."
Moller and his team claim that over 200 test flights of the M200G Volantor have already been conducted. Moller plans to have the vehicle ready for sale by early 2008 with a goal of 250 units produced in the year. Depending upon demand, the vehicle could cost under US$100,000 according to the company. As of August 2007, Moller had not yet established if the vehicle will be regulated by the United States Federal Aviation Administration or the Department of Transportation.

Bet it couldn't get my ass off the ground. Also it looks like a law suit waiting to happen what with balance issues (its probably about as stable as a canoe) and also the blades on the bottom look like they want blood.
RIP TD :cry2:

Okay not to be a parade rainer but does no one else see that giant crane looking device that seems to be oh I don't know... craning. Looks fake to me.

Quite possible. But everybody remembers what happened when George Jetson's car would randomly turn back into its briefcase self. He would hover in the air for a moment and then land safely back down. So why worry about pesky things like safety and the laws of physics? Hannah Barbera have their own laws. The laws of great cartoons.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too, but on a couple of the shots near the end, you can clearly see the cable attached to the top of the craft is a safety line and that there's a lot of slack on it. Doesn't look like it's supporting the crafts weight, more that it's there in case things go wrong. Doesn't exactly praise the safety of the craft though
