Currently my favorites areeee:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - It is my all time favorite movie. I've watched it at least 15 times and I could definitely watch it 100 more.
V For Vendetta - I wish I saw this one in theaters.
The Dark Knight - DUH.
Napoleon Dynamite - I'm sorry, I have the stupidest sense of humor. I find this movie hilarious every time I watch it.

in no particular order...
Vanilla Sky-Both the original and the tom cruise one. just fantastic movies.
Speed Racer-the best movie of 08. iron man was ok and i enjoyed dark knight, but speed racer was simply better. the end.
Matrix reloaded- aside from the fact that this movie is a MUST SEE for dynamic storytelling/composition, *see image when agent is on car and all the chaos is happening on the freeway-one of the greatest composed shots ever* this was the movie where neo kicks ass...he took forever to get around to it in 1, and in 3 he just...well.,..hmm.
Requiem for a dream- i know this gets on alot of peoples list, and deservedly so. this is the movie to watch if you need a reason to never do drugs. unless you WANT to end up on a table with a dildo up your butt....
28 Days later-im also throwing weeks in here too, the first scene of weeks was the most intense shit ibve ever seen in a horror movie, and days' cinematography was and still is amazing.

1. Edward Scissorhands
Allthough I'm not a fan of the gothic imagery, I truly love how it contrasts to the urban town with it's 50's pastels and its equally vivid citizens. This was a movie I grew up with, so, yeah it might be something alot of Tim Burton fans love as well... For me it was the first movie that made me cry, and the first score I actually went out to BUY (the Ice Dance is just such a nostalgic master piece)
2. The Incredibles
Brad Bird blew me away with this one. Sure, it had no pairings, no deep moral or even a message. But holy Hell how I enjoy it. The voices, acting, action, animation, characters and... JUST EVERYTHING is so freaking perfect. There's not ONE boring moment, and most notable of all: The story arch is actually unique from most Disney movies. Something that Brad Bird should've stuck to in Ratatouille (and the only reason Ratatouille isn't on this list). What I'm talking about is the happy times > action > happier times > downward spiral where the main character is thrown into the gutter due to guilt or betrayal > everything becomes happy again > the end. Thankfully The Incredibles didn't have that, it was just pure action all the way through =D
3. Meet The Robinsons
Yes yes, I know. It suffers from the "Hercules Syndrome" (ie. too many characters), but oh my gosh how this movie stood out. The trailers made me go "Meh, seems messy." but when I watched it, and when the end came. I bawled. And I've watched it 38 times now. STILL cry every single time the ending song comes in "Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder. Don't you know? The hardest part is over..." gah! DX It was a perfect movie with so many great characters. You can really tell the producers put their very heart and soul into the production, because it shows. And that's how it should be =]
4. The Last Action Hero
I know, corny old movie with MISTAH GOVERNA OF CALIFORNIA'! But it's hilarious. My favorite scene just has to be when the bad guy comes to the real world and sees two robbers mug a guy and then go "Take his shoes! Take his shoes!" only to then run away after taking his shoes, upon the bad guy goes "...Take is SHOES?"
5. The Burbs
This movie could also be called "Inventor of the Space to Earth to Town to Neighbourhood Sequence Movie". Because it did that too. But nevertheless, I love this movie. Because og my GODS, be was right all along! D:

you know i just dont get the casablanca love, or gone with the wind...ive watched both, multiple times, both as a kid and again as an adult...and i dont think either one of them deserves the credit they get. The Wizard of Oz was a much better movie than those two.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit- because it was my favorite as a kid, and a frequent watch on those red eyed nights of my teen years
Boondock Saints- because Irish people kick ass and this movie was perhaps one of the best ever made! If you haven't seen it yet go do it right now drop whatever you're doing and go see it!!
Sin City- Refer back to 300 minus the Lynne Varley part
Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer- Couldn't pick between the two so I put both down. These movies are awesome and I thank the people who brought them to America!

and patrick stewart as gurney hallek ! overall i liked the original better because it was gritty and seemed to be coated with a layer of spice dust , or slime . and the guild navigators kicked serious ass in the first movie .
.
but it was cool to see the "children of dune" portion, as that was not in the original.
