Hey, I got Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of Lions a week ago. This game is really awesome. Anyway..
My question is: Is there anyway to get JP at a faster rate? (Does JP Boost really help?)
no spoilers in here, thanks.

Yes I know that this game is retarded. It's also fun for some retarded reason.
This one is less retarded, but it's mostly just fun for the trolling

Cool. I'm pissed that I can't get any of the secret characters because Mustadio died.

Accumulate is also a great way to gain some extra JP. It is the easiest way to cheese the game. Basically corner an enemy so they can't move and spam Accumulate and healing spells. You can usually max out a single job class for all of your characters each fight.

They've renamed it to Focus for the PSP version, but it's a Squire skill. They've changed some of the skill names around. I guess they make more sense this way, but as I haven't played the PSP version, I still think in terms of the PSX game.
Just a word of warning, though, if the game is anything like the old game, random encounters scale based on your party's level, not on how far into the game you are. The more you outpace the game, the harder it becomes to beat the random battles. This is mostly because you can't buy the equipment that is relative to your level if you level too fast, so the game just assumes you have higher level equipment during the random battles. Enemies will do much more damage and you will do much less.
I had a friend who managed to get around this by always having at least one thief in their party at all times to steal equipment from the higher level human enemies. This way he could get the equipment he needed to match his level without having to wait for it to become available in shops. It isn't the easiest way to do things, however.

I've never really liked to power level or whatever. I've always just leveled up as I went through.
And I always do just fine.

Oh! Yeah I've done the Focus thing before to get more JP and EXP.
Yeah they game does have the random enemies level up with you. But I've been doing good so far, I have some really powerful people and attacks.
I have another question, I was just in a random battle the a while ago, but something strange happened. A red panther was a guest battling with me, I found it strange because I never had a red panther in my party before. But after that battle he wasn't with me anymore. Why did that happen and how can I have that happen again?

I have been, I'm trying to get the Dark Knight class for Ramza. Oh and I just got Balthier(from FF12) yesterday.

My two favorite JP accumulative moves are JP+ which simply nets you more JP after your turn than what you normally get, or a move (forgot the name) that gives you two JP each time you move in addition to what you get when you complete your turn.
you can also do that whole "corner enemies" thing, it helps.
Keep in mind, the higher up you are in levels for that job class, the fast you get JP for it. Stick with one and it gets easier to buy new moves or even master it.

I find War of the Lions nearly impossible to play myself...
I'm a big power leveler and the system for random battles makes it so I can never get strong enough to overpower my enemies.
For JP, I just sit and use healing potions or the focus spell over and over again once I've gotten down to one enemy left I corner him and heal/focus to raise JP for my Chemist and Squire. It probably isn't a good method later on, but it works for me, sitting here at the first place for random battles.

You can't level up that much from random battles? I'm at level 41 while most of the enemies are at level 22-25. :/
Makes shit really easy, already half way to the Dark Knight class and I'm only a third into the game.

Wow! How did you do that?
I'm at level 3-5 and everything I fight is level 5.
Does it start to balance out or something as you get stronger? Maybe there's hope for me playing this game after all!

The game figures enemy levels based on your level and your exected equipment at that level. You need to max out a couple of thieves and start stealing some equipment from human enemies you come across.

No way, 22-25? The game should be leveling up with you. My enemies are in their late 40s-early 50s.

lol. Just get yourself the right equipment and people. I suggest a White Mage or Chemist. That could really help.
I'm in my early 50s in the game.

I'm currently in the fight with Wiegraf right before he transforms, near where those two siblings keep fighting or some shit.
His current level is level 28. The enemies in the fight before were about 25-28. It's been a while since i powered on my PSP though.
Ramaza is currently level 41, my arithmetician is level 39, my summoner is a meak 37 (weakest character I have, my monk is also level 41, and my dancer is level 43.
Also, to up levels faster? Just random battle like hell. I enjoy this game more than I have any other, so it's pretty easy (if not fun) for me to just blaze through countless random fights.

You have an Arithmetician? Are they really good?
They can cast most magics to almost every character on the feild (including your own) imeediatly without charge time. You need to use them carefully, so their turns take a while, mostly planning.
However, they are slower than all hell. I have to wait till everyone gets about three turns in before I can use him.
The dancer, on the other hand, is amazing. They learn a move called Forbidden Dance that just slams all enemies on the screen with status ailments. Nothing more rewarding than casting toad on half of the enemies in one swoop. :D
Right now I'm focusing on that Dark Knight. Oh god do I want one.

Aside from the slow speed of the Arithmetician, it sounds really worth while.
The Dancer sounds amazing, I should work on getting one.
And I'm focusing on the Dark Knight class too.
