I'm looking for something I can sink my teeth into, bite hard and then maybe read. So I figured I'd just ask for your favorites and take a look at them.

Well, to state the obvious, it depends on what kind of comic you're looking for. To start with I'd suggest:

1. Recommendations
If you've already found a comic that you like, go to the creator's profile page and see what comics he or she is recommending as his/her favorites. There's no guarantee, but it seems logical that you might have similar tastes. Also, some people list their favourites on their comic page. You can find links to some of mine here , for example.

2. Browse
The DD Browse function allows you to filter comics by genre and tone, story or strip etc. Set your parameters and search!

3. 2009 DD Awards
Look through the winners and finalists of the 2009 Drunk Duck Awards . That ought to give you some idea of what other DDers are enjoying at the moment.

4. And, of course ...
You can always just go and read mine !

Skullbie I agree 100%! Smug I could do is awesome!
I didn't know what least I could do was when I first read it and I still found it genius!

I also have I Fell Down the Stairs on my list of favourites, so that comes highly recomended...if you like to see Jesus eating babies....

Argh!
Sorry I am just straining to resist using this topic as an excuse to plug my own comic for a cheap laugh....argh...must resist!

Without providing a cheap, shameless plug, there are plenty of comics to search for on DD. That said, the only ones I read right now that aren't on this website are Medium Large and Sandra and Woo .

for DD specific comics, you could also check out the lists of past favorites: 2009 2008 2007 2006

With the caveat that many of those comics don't udpate anymore (though some still do), although even if a comic has ended or been left behind, may still absolutely be worth reading. :]

I would definitely suggest people work through that list of comics in order!

It is very important that you read them in that order, starting with the first one!
ESPECIALLY THE FIRST ONE!

Eraser, here's two on the Duck I think you'll probably dig.

Acrobat: a down-to-earth take on high flying superheroicshttp://www.drunkduck.com/Acrobat/index.php

The Hub: a barfly's inferno with humor somewhere between Candide and W.C. Fields as well as astounding traditional print based art http://www.drunkduck.com/The_Hub/index.php

As a P.S. switched to an S.P. (self promotion), of which I'm usually innocent but has become thematic in this thread. The artist I'm working with on the Surrealist is top notch and adds detail not at all common among webcomics: http://www.drunkduck.com/The_Surrealist/index.php I don't feel awkward recommending the quality of the current story.

If you're like the Duck and you need to get away, here's one place you can fly South (but your drunk so it may be North) of this site:

Everyone likes seeing their comic get a positive mention!
I've just started getting into Bacon Strips, it has really sharpened up its humour recently. I gave it a pretty poor review on my review comic, but it has really taken the advice on board and shaped up.

I have alot of comics.

My current comic, MAG-ISA was number 3 overall at one time and it got featured in July 2008.

You should check it out. And yeah... I'm not afraid of shamelessly plugging my comic.

But I admit I'm still 2nd place to Harkovast as far as being a shameless self promoter is concerned. :)

Not really, Hark is at least humorous about it and mentioned comics other than his own, while you're more outright self-served bragging.

Speaking of outright self-served bragging; MY COMIC a.k.a.GIRLFIREND got featured with 17,000 hits on the first day plus it once stayed in the top 3 hoes for a good number of weeks YOU SHOULD CHECK HER OUT KTHX
