In this thread, we post our favorite games found in arcades.
I love Police 911, just the level of movement and control that the game gives you is wonderful. It maybe an on-rails shooter, but at times it doesn't feel like one. Whenever I play, I always manage to gather a crowd behind me, which I hate. One of my fondest arcade memories was playing with some random dude that joined me on my quest to beat it.
In tune with shooting games, I adore LA Machineguns. The huge stationary machine gun is insane as is the sound that the cabinet creats. I love how the gun reacts as if it were a real machine gun, hold it to firmly and you'll feel the vibrations of the gun throughout your body. The levels are also well designed, being developed by SEGA.
Others would be Wangan Midnight, a racing game that is unlike all the Rush clones outthere. It's like Tokyo Extreme Racer, but with a story. SEGA's Emergency Ambulance Driver is like the more serious version of Crazy Taxi, and is a tad scary if you think about it too much. Time Crisis and Daytona is also fun.
My hand is not steady enough to play Slient Scope and I totally fail at playing 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker.
...the only thing I hate? The games are expensive to play after a while. D:

Ninja Assault
Ninjas: Bad.
Ninjas with guns: Badass.
I passed this game with my girlfriend around 2005, it was fun.
And who can forget of course of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Any Virtual On game immediately took ten bucks from me every time i got within fifty paces of it.
Same for Cyber Sled.
And that Tokyo Tank Battle game...that's exact name escapes me.

The only thing I ever go to arcades for nowadays is DDR. Before that it was Virtual-On where I became deadly with one of the more awkward characters.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.

I'm a sucker for those gun games, especially House of the Dead. I can beat the first one without continuing and the second one with one continue.
Whenever I move to a new area, I check the arcades for Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.
For classic arcade gaming my favorite is Donkey Kong.

I always seemed to find myself standing in front of Marvel vs. Capcom whenever I walk into an Arcade.

I'll basically play any light-gun game or sidescrolling beat'em up. Though I have a particular affinity for any light-gun game where the gun has a reload button of some kind, so I don't have to lose my aim to reload (though I guess in a way that sort of removes the point of reloading...)

What I do for reloading in a lightgun game is I keep my hand at the front of the gun to steady it, and when it comes time to reload, I flick my fingers in front of the barrel and fire. That leaves my aim right where it was and reloads quickly. In the situations where I'm firing off lots of clips, I just flick my fingers in front at every seventh shot.

From the 25 cent section:
Battle balls - I was in love with this game because it was a lot like tetris but easier and had cool cartoon animation.
The Simpsons arcade game - I used to play this all the time in the early 90s.
Puzzle Fighter - Oh man, this game was so cool with all the diamond blocks.
MR. DRILLER! - This is the last arcade game that I put quarters in on campus even though I own the PSone version at home.
From the 50 cent section
Dance Dance Revolution (Japanese version) - There is this one song that I always play whenever I go in the arcade. It's one of those things that I need to do in order for my day to feel complete.
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune II - Oh, my guiltiest of pleasures...I seriously got addicted to this game when they cut the price in half.
From the $1.00 section
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune III - My arcade just got the new machines and I limit myself one game per day.
I haven't really gotten into, but I LOVE watching: Drum Mania and Time Crisis 4.

Two different games:
Pac The Man X, by McSebi Software (or something like that). It's one of the BEST clones of Pac-Man out there. Fruit that you have to chase down (instead of just sitting there), Smart ghosts, level editor, and even Master Mode, which plunges the level into total darkness.
AND
Any Pinball game by LittleWing
Why them? They have a realistic physics model. And great pinball games.
