What is your favorite angle to draw a character? Like profile, straight-on front shot, back, 3/4th view, 'camera' shots from the top or bottom, ect. ect.
I know I always draw the 3/4th view too much, for some reason I find it the most easy (though it doesn't always turn out right). Profiles have been very hard for me lately and I think all my front shots are awkward looking. =/ Even drawing full bodies at a half-way angle are easier to me...
So yes, explain your favorite angle! Or explain how stupid this is and you should enjoy drawing your characters from all angles...whatev'. XP

Like you when defaulting I do 3/4 view pictures. But usually when simply doodling I am always trying to draw people contorting and twisting in all sorts of dynamic poses.
I got in the habit of doing this after falling in love with the zany poses drawn in the Darkstalkers fighting game series.
Sometimes I do straight front view, I find it the most difficult as I have a hard time keeping things symmetrical IMO
I like the profile (side view) as well.

I do 3/4th view by default like JNP.
Especially when I'm working on a char design. It really is the most convenient view.

I like drawing closeups of hands doing things. Or a scene shown from directly behind one character (so you see what they are seeing).
3/4 is what I tend to default to for character design and conversations, but I'm trying to consciously break that habit for the sake of keeping things interesting.

Dynamic foreshortened shots, like in animation frames. I got an animation art book for my fav animation series, and I really like the way animation depicts things. Different from paper media like comics/manga.

3/4 usually shows the most expression without the 'flatness' of side or front view.
I very rarely use a direct front view, even rarer for a side view.
Different vertical angles for different effects and 'feel's.
For example when I intorduce one of the main villians on p5 of my comic, the angle is very low to create a threatening image.
Then again when Mr Chairman tells his fleet to strip the planet, the angle is low = threatening.

Like so many others, I default to the 3/4ths view. I tend to do them viewed from the right, as well, which is a bad habit.
If we're talking full-body shots, I like to draw them slightly from above - drawing them straight on feels... a little boring.

My fave is actually doing hand shots, like in the Mason fight when Garret hits the ground and it shows his hands as he's landing. But I also tend to use feet shots alot. Our fetishes show up in our works yes?

While 3/4 is quite common, it is done so for a reason i think, aside that most people think it looks better.
Full front or side seems to diminish the depth / 3d perspective unless it's well shadowed.
I think 3/4 looks best.

3/4's is sort of my default. I didn't used to like drawing profile but I've been doing it more and more lately. My favorite angles are the ones where the character's entire body is in shot. I'm also starting to like establishing shots as well.

Front or .... 5/6 front. For my comic style. I do profiles most when I draw birds (a thing I draw a lot)
