Silver Surfer is pretty cool, but it always aggravated me as to how powerful he is. I mean, who could go up against him?
I'll go see the film, though. Reason number one being Jessica Alba. ;)
This trailer is a little dissapointing, since it's really only SS and The Human Torch. But the effect look good. I like the way SS can go through things.

Oh dear, crappy CG alert!
Warning warning!
DANGER!
The SS's ability to go through things is indeed nice... I dunno, maybe he'll be a sort of a villain? He is an alien afterall...

For some reason that title just screams "ending on a cliffhanger" to me. Considering how bad the first movie was, I'm not sure I would want to pay theater prices to see a sequel which may not have an ending.

I almost never see comic book movies because I never read the superhero comics that these things are based on.
If ever a "Nextwave" movie came out I would see it, but it would have to be animated.

Well, when he was first introduced in the comics he was a villain; more specifically, a lackey of Galactus. Of course, he only got that job by doing something more or less heroic, but ultimately, he was definitely not a nice guy when he showed up.

I'm actually gonna go see this one, i loved the silver surfer cartoon growing up, and this movie looks a lot better than the first one.
Oh for those of you who are wondering, here is SS story summed up.
WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
SS works for Galaticus to scout out empty planets for Galacticus to feed on (planets being the only thing that eases his hunger). Soon he stumbles onto Earth, where he is convinced by Alicia Masters that Earth was worth preserving from Galacticus hunger. He then teams up with the Fantastic Four and stops galacticus.
END SPOILER
I essentially read that out of the Marvel Encyclopedia i have in my room, (which is basically how i filled myself in on 40 years of marvel comics that i missed).

I'd heard that they're going to have Galactus in the movie for certain, and less reliably that he's going to be based on his Ultimate Reality version.

I agree with the ending on a cliffhanger bit. Chances are, they'll beat SS, only to find out that he was working for Galactus. Cliffhang into FF3.
Though, I am confused about them combining their powers. When did that happen in the comics?

They probably wanted to have Super Skrull in it somehow, but without including the actual Skrull race, so they gave HT Rogue's power for a while. Although, when Johnny touched Doom, he should've been able to switch with him too since the power-switching thing only seemed to work with guys effected by cosmic rays.
There was a whole bunch of explaining that was left out though. Doom regenerates after getting blasted by Surfer? That, and apparently his skin turns back from steel to flesh, but Doom "conveniently" still has his bug-zapper powers.

I saw the first one, and it wasn't so bad. In every sort of movie, if you're preaching to the general masses, who seem to not be major geeks or nerds, they are going to leave things out.
The first was good, it was interesting just long enough to have a good discussion on the way home, but up until the commercials of the SS came up, I forgot about F4 completely. It was good, but it wasn't that good. SS is better, I don't know if they had the same director, but it was mostly better.

Um....by not liking it! I don't care if I had a free pass or not. Marvel needs to stick to doing just one movie of their titles now. It peaked at Spider-Man 2 & X-Men 2.

What?! Spiderman 3 was the best of the series.
Other than not killing of Gwen Stacey, I thought it was sweet. And X-men 2 was way better than X-men 1.
These are all great movies with great actors, technology, and decent representations of the chracters if you consider all the universes (authors) of which they're derived. I'm grateful to live in a period where technology can bring all my childhood heros to life in a respectable way. And I don't understand why so many people think these movies suck... especially Fan Four 2 - that was great! Way better than the 1st, which I also liked.

Hands down: Spiderman 1 < Spiderman 2 <= Spiderman 3. I will concede that 2 and 3 are close enough that they're almost equal... both were fantastic. For me, 3 edges out 2 because of Venom - greatest spidey villian IMO.

I agree.
Spidey 3 would've been a lot better in they didn't turn Venom into such a douche.
It's saddening, really.

I liked the actors who played the Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic. They were funny and fit the roles nicely, heck, they even looked like their comic book counterparts! I don't really like the Thing, but his actor did a good job and there were tons of decent one liners. Frankly, I would've enjoyed the movie if it hadn't been for Jessica Alba and the plot.
Jessica Alba has ruined the Invisible Woman for me. That woman took one of the most evolved characters in Marvel and utterly destroyed her with vapid acting and bad dye jobs. I can't take Sue seriously ever again.
The plot was pretty dumb. If you've ever read any Fantastic Four comics, you know what's going to happen. I mostly went to see the movie because I like seeing comic book characters on the big screen and I loooove one liners.
I don't know how to make the spoiler thing work (or even if this counts as a spoiler), but I'm gonna give it a shot
Galacticus should never, ever, be anything but a giant man in pink armour. Seriously. He needs to be a giant man in pink armour. Otherwise it's just weird.

At least the Fantasticar("Car"? Did that thing ever have wheels?)looked less like a flying bathtub.
So, was Stan Lee actually playing Stan Lee in FF2, or was he the guy he played from the first movie pretending to be Stan Lee?
This movie SOOOOOO needed a Bruce Campbell cameo.
