Apart from the Joker in the first one, the first three look pretty interesting. The Harlock one had some pretty awful CG effects in places and the acting was pretty cheesy throughout. As for why Hollywood doesn't make their movies look like this, it's most likely due to the fact that it's a lot easier to make a preachy trailer to "prove" a film can be made that reflects elements of the comic than it is to actually make a 2 hour film that does that and stays entertaining throughout.

Also, he manages to get the high production quality on the trailers because he made them with a full production crew. These aren't exactly garage videos, here, they were made with the cooperation of a professional film studio.

I am kind of curious about this Extraordinary Tales movie he's working on, though.

Like the Harlock one. Even had that freaky mouthless chick.
