Man, I am very much looking forward to this game so far. XD
Nothing like defending (or destroying) the world, having a kid, proceeding to kill that kid's father, and visiting that kid later at the orphanage. XD It's like the double-wicked Sims we never had. Plus CO-OP!!

...having a kid, proceeding to kill that kid's father...
Wouldn't that be killing yourself? :) Unless you can be a female in this one, which would be awesome.
I'd watch the video but the narrator was too dumb and annoying in the first minute to listen to for very long (much like the voice actors in the first Fable game, unfortunately.) Edit: I turned the sound off and clicked around in the video. You can have a dog! Awesome :kitty:
Still though, Fable was an awesome game and I hadn't known they were making another one. I'll have to find out more about it, it might be something I want to end up getting! :)

I wonder what the percentage of ppl who played Fable 1 was female? Cuz it's like Sims, plus you get to hack and kill stuff and watch them suffer... definite appeal for a certain female gamer demographic.
So now they wisened up and included playable female templates. And killable husbands LOL. And kids. And pets. I wonder if you can raise kittens.

Yeah the guy talking was playing a female character who had a husband and a kid. The second player that was tagging along proceeded to shoot that kids father at the end. XP
Sounds like you can play a girl or a boy this time around!

There must have been a bigger number than they thought or else they wouldn't have bothered having a female playable character :) Then again I know guys who always choose to be the female char because it means they get to spend the whole game looking at tits and short skirts.
Fable 1 did have a pretty fun system for finding things to do other than the quest. There were some good optional sidequests as well, like the whorehouse (nice underpants dude) and getting to marry that evil mayor lady. Actually I was impressed that they let you have gay sex in that game, I always loved coming home to a town and having my loving husband run up and give me a present. Usually some useless bit of armor though... (actually they should make the falling in love stuff harder, 5 minutes and a small variety of gifts would get you married)
I hope Fable 2 keeps that good sort of non-plot stuff (and adds to it). The only real improvement I'd want out of a second fable game is more maps and more optional quests, and more chances to be evil. What with all the monsters you fight you have to make a real effort not to come out the end of the game with a halo. I hope they don't just reuse all the same maps, one of my favorite parts of games is map exploration. It sounded like the reused the same music already (but maybe that was just for demo purposes, or that area...)
Means I have to get an xbox360 for myself for christmas though T_T Oh well, that means I can get the pinata game too :)

Heheh, this game looks awesome. :)
I've played Fable: The Lost Chapters, and I just knew that they had to make a number 2 this time! I wonder though, since you mentioned that the female character was a player, is Fable 2 an online RPG?
In any way, I'm already looking forward to this game. Especially because a pistol is better than the crappy bows you have to use in Fable 1! >:)

I can't think of any better reasons. Would you rather we stared at a man's ass all day?

The video seems to suggest it has a co-op mode, but isn't an MMO, if that's what you're asking. You can import a character from another game and they can take things from your world back into their own. They can also effect things in your world, but they don't say anything about bringing in more players beyond that. Odds are, there will be online support so people can play co-op over Xbox Live, but hopefully they will have the good sense to also support offline co-op.

Apparently, the dog isn't optional. It replaces the radar.

I think I read or heard in another video or something that you don't have to have the dog....how it works without it though I'm not sure. Maybe you get the radar then.

I can see how it would replace the radar. Maybe it points at where you should go and you follow it, or it growls when enemies are near? Hewie kind of did that in Haunting Ground so the AI is there.
It'd be nice to have both though. Still, tramping around the country by yourself can get pretty lonely, I mean you could get bodyguards and enamored townspeople to follow you around and tell you how great you are, but they'd always get killed... I wonder if the dog would help you fight or if it's totally non-interactive.
I didn't say there was anything wrong with it :) I quite enjoyed watching the main guy run around though, even though his undies were dumb. Giving him tattoos made things interesting too :)
I wonder if this game will refer to the old game at all? How would it talk about your hero, considering he could look different and all (they couldn't even do that in the main game, the murals). Though I suppose you never got to name him, but you were supposed to go by your nickname. Necromancer or whatnot... or maybe it's a prequel?

It's set five hundred years after the first one, so a prequel seems unlikely.
They'll probably not refer to it at all.

OK, I was curious enough about the game to look up its [wikipedia article [en.wikipedia.org]
They promise a lot with this game, but if they deliver on all of it (which they couldn't do with the first game which was still pretty great) it will be amazing and an awesome game. worth buying a 360 for! (Much like MGS4 is inducing folks to buy PS3s)
The stuff about running away from the dog and having it come back- so sad! I get all broken up just imagining a rejected video game dog :( :( :(

It kept me playing for six hours straight, so I'd say it's a good game.

The mediocre player reviews, lack of offline co-op, and just about everything I've been hearing concerning it being pretty much just like the first game will probably keep me from ever buying or even renting it.

I'm having a blast with the game. I started a good male character and an evil female character,, and quite frankly I'm having a lot more fun being an ice-cold bitch. Even got into a gang fight with a prostitute and her buddies, and now everybody cringes in fear every time I go near 'em.

Mine just arrived from Amazon today, but I started getting into Oblivion already and now I'm torn as to starting on Fable (and possibly not coming back to Oblivion for a long time) or playing Oblivion til I get tired of it, THEN doing Fable....
I think I'll save Fable for when I have a little more time. I would hate to get really into it but only be able to play for an hour at a time.

Okay, after some more time playing this...I've still concluded that it is an overall good game and highly addictive, I'm still playing it, however it seems to have been, in my opinion, released MUCH too soon.
First off obviously for those who want to play ONLINE with others, you have to wait for them to release a patch first, or so I've heard. There is only right-on-the-console co-op right now...and that is the thing that feels the most incomplete to me.
Player 2 plays with their own character's stats, but they pick the default face of an evil, good, or neutral man or woman...they can't play with the character they've made already. Make sense? Hell no. They obviously could've taken some time to make it so player 2 can use their own character's face, as WELL as let co-op be much more interactive other than "fight and make expressions", because that's all player 2 can do. They can't shop, pick up treasure, can't work, and is not recognized as even existent by NPCs. Not to mention the fact that everything player 2 does affects player 1's reputation. Why can't player 2 have their own rep?
Also, the camera can be ridiculous when playing with two people, it's hard to change where it's facing and you find yourself trying to fight while all you see is a giant pillar; that's a major bug that needs fixing, at least let player 1 adjust the camera! I also think a split-screen would've been handy when the two players want to seperate.
Overall, co-op is horribly dissapointing considering how awesome Lionhead was making it out to be.
As for bugs in the main game, there are a lot of graphical errors. I've seen NPCs walking inside of stairs, NPCs never appearing or getting stuck in a corner, and at one point my sister's character who was tagging along was sitting, sliding across the ground, and waving her weapon. Ehh?!
There's nothing in the game that really affects the game's fun, just a lot of little annoyances. Like if you walk into someone, they don't move...you'd think a giant world game like this they could make it so NPCs get out of your way when you bump into them. Also, yes you can vault over some things...but not enough things. I don't think a jump button would've hurt anyone either...that would've spared us a lot of unsuccessful vaulting.
One thing that people are turned off by right when they start is the fighting, but with that I recommend you keep playing. Once you're able to start blocking and flipping around it gets much more entertaining. I recommend calling a buddy over during hard battles, it helps a TON.
So there. That's most of the things that irked me about Fable 2.
Overall it feels like a great game that isn't finished.
All I can say is they better release a hell of a lot of patches/updates....but that's the thing, they shouldn't be NEEDING to do this. -_-

Any behind-the-shoulder adventure game that is not at least as fluid as Assassin's Creed does not need to be bought. That's my opinion from now on.

I got this game the other day too, and I have to agree that overall that it's not a bad game. But it's not some really amazing godly game in the slightest.
There are glitches all over the shop, some to do with dialogue and some to do with gameplay. Such as an NPC making the exact same comment three times in a row, such as the guy in the Light Temple, he seemed prone to telling me that "it wasn't the right hour" several times, or asking me why I was leaving when I hadn't moved. The dog also manages to walk into walls when finding treasure alot, and often stands near dig spots and just sort of walks very slowly in circles until it finally "latches" onto the dig spot.
Of course those are small things you can almost ignore. But the biggest letdown for me was the joke of a co-op. How hard could it have been to allow you to use your own character? And I can understand being limited to one screen if you are playing offline co-op, but why am I stuck in the same screen as my friend who is also playing on his own TV? Theres just no need for it, why couln't it just be as if you were playing the game by yourself and your friend could be running around too, with maybe some limits like having to stay in the same general area like the town or particular road.
I also noticed them randomly decided that a hero doesn't need armor to protect himself from swords and sorcery. So when you become huge from all the physique, you look like what Hulk Hogan would look like if he work a sweatervest.
And it's also kind of annoying how once again your character doesn't utter a word, which I accept is absolutely fine, unless of course the people you are "talking" to just don't shut up. Case in point: Hannah.
It's a pretty good game overall, but it could have been so much better.
