I did that stuff before, the Gamemaker and Rm. But now I'm trying to develop a Source Mod.

No table top strategies? Paper and dice...?
):

I've been working on something like that. I kinda based it's gameplay on a mixture between DnD and the Disgaea video games.

Here's a screenshot of a simple little computer game I've been working on:

About two years ago I made a simple arcade-style game. Programmed it in C using a Linux OS I'd installed along with Windows on my PC. Ended up screwing up my computer royally. Word to the wise: if you go the Linux route, know what you're doing (oh, and find out how to do proper collision detection, cause my collision routine was, shall we say, inelegant).

Tabletop games? Oh, I made stuff like that all the time when I was younger. Drew grid maps, drew/wrote my own monster manuals and character templates, drew little colored figure stands when I then taped onto pennies as stands. Some of the big boss enemies required 2-3 pennies, heheh.

My last one was a game where I took Dungeon Dice Monsters and translated it into a game for Star Wars figures. Because why would I pay good money to buy cheap ugly little plastic monsters, when I can pay less for larger better-made SW figures? I already know the DDM rules after watching YuGiOh, so I might as well make SW DDM tabletop!

I did make special rules for lightsaber duel encounters. The basis is each player arranges 3 cards consisting of techniques, and the cards are then dealt against each other. There are different special rules and special techniques for the more powerful duelists, of course.

The fun was in drawing the cards and the manual illustrations.

i made one like that too. i used warhammer figures and made my own trading cards and rule books. i also made card games. i made one called dragonfight, but it was kinda below average.
I once tried to smoke lettuce. It rocked!!

I bet my game would be really, really boring. Why? Because it'd be impossible. Unless you knew the cheats. But I would never tell anyone...

Do you mean that you made a DDM game using Warhammer? If you still have your rules, can I see it?
I really dig DDM as a concept. It's unfortunate that the game pieces themselves are incredibly subpar, but the concept is awesome.
And it's funny to say... but the YuGiOh mini-arc featuring DDM was awesome, even though it was basically a week-long advertisement, and they miffed the rules somewhat.

no, it wasn't based on ddm. i used dungeons and dragons battle boards, warhammer figures, and i used a dice from warhammer which decided which direction you moved in. i also used some spell templates from warhammer. and i lost the rulebook. i know, i'm and idiotic bastard...

They've made a new RPG Maker? Awesome! God this takes me back.

I've always had a desire to create, and games were really my first outlet for that, I used to do a lot of mucking about with RPG Maker 2000, but I never got very far due to poor planning, I was lot less lazy than I was now though, probably because I could download the resources instead of having to make them myself, but eh, I found I was happier seeing what it could do anyway, a lot of people say it's limited, but I say those people just aren't doing it right, I figured out a way to make a gun and ammo system to use on the actual map (like the bow in the old Zelda games) and even a side scrolling game system.

My next attempt was with this text game maker called Legendary Tales, it used a system of rules adapted from table top rules the creator of the program used to use, it was quite clever. Then I dabbled in thing like Game Maker and that but never really got to like them. Currently I'm messing around with AGS (Adventure Game Studio) which was for making point and clickers like Monkey Island or Simon The Sorcerer. But what I really want to learn is Flash Actionscript. I'm not very good at actual coding, or drawing for that matter, my strengths seem to be in taking what's already there and then doing interesting things with them, rather than starting from scratch.

Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.
