The band is not real. They are an Austrailian creation of Santo Cilauro and the band is supposed to be from Molvania, which is a fictional country.

Ah! I haven't seen Santo for ages! I used to love him and Rob Sitch on the new D-Generation, they were brilliant. :)

Anyway, great clip :)

As to the comparison with Borat... I think I like Zlad in this sketch better. Borat is meant to be a "real" person. A cartoon one, but a cartoon person that's meant to fool people that he really is real. Zlad is more pure comedy.

That reminds me when he hitched a ride with some college students who ate up all of his sexists comments and made complete ass of themselves. Naturally that clip was put into the Borat movie.
