I'm surprised i haven't seen this thread yet.

So who's liking what?

So far, most of the Kinect games are making me glad my wife bought one. Although the rail system that fable: the journey is on makes it kinda meh, and almost as if Peter Molyneux is just phoning this one in.
The gun smith mode for Ghost recon is pretty awesome

The new WIIU is a bit of a surprise, in the controller department. And it looks like it may be pretty awesome. I'm gonna wait for others to try it out tho.

I haven't seen anything from Sony that shocks me or think it's going to make it awesome.

I was actually thinking of starting a thread. I'm glad you did. E3 is always so exciting to me.

Microsoft: This one was hit-or-miss for me. Tomb Raider and Modern Warfare 3 were really impressive, though they stuck with them for too long. I don't know about the Kinect stuff. A few things looked impressive, but others were starting to convince me that Kinect isn't powerful enough for the things we're expecting from it. The Star Wars thing felt really stiff and scripted. The finger-tracing demo and Build-a-Buddy were pretty cool, I just think they wouldn't be fun for very long.

I did love it when the Dance Central guy cracked a joke at his own expense. Dance Central remains the best implementation of Kinect and I'm sure the sequel will be even better. I respect Harmonix.

One thing's for sure... Microsoft needs to either hire good actors, or make the game demos fun enough for people to not act. Those kids.... Kinect Disneyland might actually be a fun little game for kids, but it isn't sold well by a couple of kid posers reciting lines like that. I thought maybe it was just the mistake of using kids, but the full-grown football douchebags were nearly as bad.

Sony: Sony's press conference was kind of boring... not because the things they were showing were bad, but just because it was mostly things we expected, with few surprises. Uncharted 2 is such an incredible game that footage of Uncharted 3 can't really top it, good as it was.

I don't give a flying crap about 3D. And there was a lot of that in Sony's presentation.

It was the PS Vita where things really picked up for me. It looks like a pretty solid device, and then HOLY CRAP. $250? That's quite a value for all those features. I went from "maybe I'll consider it" to "I'll quite likely get this" by the end of the presentation. And I really like LittleBigPlanet, so that helps.

Thank goodness they didn't parade out Kevin Butler. I'm tired of that guy. I think Sony knew that now wasn't the time for hubris, and it was probably the right move to keep things calm and straight-forward. I liked that they tended to avoid empty buzzwords, which Nintendo and Microsoft were tossing around carelessly.

Nintendo: I've always been more of a Nintendo fan, so this was the one I was most excited for. And it was fairly good. Not "home run" good, but exciting and full of fun surprises. I really was hoping to see more games for the 3DS, and strangely enough, they didn't even show all the 3DS games they had in the works, just five specific ones. But those five looked pretty fun.

They said almost nothing about the Wii, except for Zelda: Skyward Sword. And I love Zelda, so it was fun to see new footage and have them confirm it for release this year. I was worried they would postpone it for the next system like Twilight Princess, but for now it looks like they won't.

The Wii U... What an awful name. But after "Wii" I guess it doesn't matter. The system looks intriguing. I think it could actually be a lot of fun, but Nintendo didn't really sell it particularly well. This is probably because it's still so far from launch and they couldn't really show anything from actual games. But my mind has been on fire thinking of stuff you could do with the system. It's possible they're dooming themselves by taking a half-step towards the next generation like Dreamcast did. But in the meantime, it does look good. The Zelda HD mock-up is gorgeous.

Pretty fun E3 so far. Hopefully we'll get a few more surprises before it's over.

Can't say I've really seen much that's surprising or even all that interesting in this year's show. Seems to be following the same trend as the last few with a heavier emphasis on gimmicks and a much lighter emphasis on serious gaming. Looks like we're in for another lousy year.

Two words. Smash Brothers. I want me a Mega Man, Simon Belmont, and maybe customizable character creation. Mii's are cute and all, but it'd be hilarious to bring in some Brock Lesnar-type muscle guy in some Pro Wrestling-themed stage.

At first I wasn't even going to bother posting a response to this, because I didn't feel a need to. E3 is usually something I watch for surprises, and there were very few of them for me.

All of the games I've been reading in anticipation about - Skyrim, Arkham City, Assassin's Creed: Revelations - were titles I already planned on purchasing long before they announced a release date. Of course I was excited to see the demo in action, but they didn't really need to sell it to me by that point.

However, there were two things that happened in particular that got me really pumped.

Nintendo's Controller: I watched the initial controller trailer made by Nintendo and got really excited by that. However, in the back of my mind, it still appeared to be in the prototype stage simply because there wasn't enough footage of its use in a real games.

Until Ubisoft. When they had their playable demo of one of their FPS' (I believe it was Ghost Recon), then everything came together for me: this controller was really happening. I'm still drooling over all the possibilities I can imagine that they put this thing to use.

Nintendo's 3rd Party Support: Sorry to say, it's been a long time before I've bought into any consoles. None of them really interested me. I still hold Nintendo games to be of the highest regards for me in terms of gameplay experience, however the scarcity of them did not legitimize me buying an entire console just to play them. But now that they will support all these 3rd party games that I've had to wait for a PC launch, I'm definitely considering this to be a buy-at-launch platform for me (and they'll be in HD, it's about time guys!).

Prey 2: I never found the first one to be impressive. But an open world in a sci-fi universe is something I'm more interesting in seeing develop. I just hope a player's actions do have significant consequence in the story (in the playable demo, the representative didn't sound completely sure when he tried to confirm that).

Overall, Microsoft and Sony didn't really bring forward anything interest to me. I expected a lot of Kinect stuff, but I haven't completely been sold on its current usage yet. It has plenty of potential, so I will be keeping an eye out on games promising to utilize its technology well. As long as it's not another sports game. Played enough of those on the Wii, and EA's are practically a realistic version of that.

Nintendo's conference was quite the winner, nice to see a bunch of cool 3DS games coming.
Won't get the Wii U though, I think I've given up on console gaming.

So I spent most of the time looking out for cool 4 player co-op PC games...Which...There weren't that many of.
Overstrike (Overchin) was PS3 and Xbox, though I hear it's gonna be on the PC now. I dibs'd the hot spy lady. Before she had been shown. It's just one of those things, the spy is always hot, and usually a chick.

Brothers in Arms, Furious 4, or something? Yeah I guess that could be cool. I got left with the tomahawk guy, but actually he looks like the coolest, so HAH.

Dead Island, though we knew about that for a while....I got the black guy, but when I found out he was the tank I went with Purna, who's the support girl. Bluh bluh bluh

Heist: Payday, which I had never heard of before, and didn't hear of it during it! It may be boring, I'll wait and see the reviews.

The conferences were just awful.
EA: "We don't use celebrities or big stages as gimmicks, unlike the other companies" then 10 minutes later they've got 3 handegg players, and a baseball player to announce some RPG, I think? Bullshit. At least they didn't get a big stage like a corporate sellout whore. Also their games sort of sucked.
I think Overchin was the only one I was interested in? And the way they were parading Origin around seems to imply they're not using Steam anymore. Possibly the worst imaginable decision to make. (Not counting the choice of Host of Ubisoft's conference) Actually was Overchin Sony/Microsoft?...
What the hell did EA have then?

Ubisoft: "HEY THERE AUDIENCE, APPLAUD ME AND MY EPIC WIN, DOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL SO RANDOM!!!!!1 I love dick jokes."
I don't think there were any good Ubisoft games, were there? Brothers in Arms I was interested in because of the co-op, but we didn't see any gameplay, so it's early days I spose.

Sony: "I hope you didn't forget your expensive 3D glasses!"
Unfortunately I did, but I did tally it up, to buy a PS3, the 3D TV they were offering, and the PS3 move, it'd be $950.
I don't have $950, so I think Sony sort of lost my attention.

Microsoft: I didn't see this for the most part, I think. It was just Kinect stuff anyway, who gives a shit.

Nintendo: Did you see the size of their stage? Corporate fucking sellouts. EA 4 LYF
But really, Nintendo still impressed. Even though I don't intend to get the Wii U, I was still grinning like a little fanboy at it.
Lemme go over their games in insane detail, seeing as though they're the only games I own the system to.

OOT 3D: It's out in Europe before US, and I am getting it on the day. I will post a thread here saying "Hey look how great this game is, DD--Oh right most of you can't. EUROPE, BITCHES." There isn't much else to say, it's gonna rock. The master quest built in reverses the game, and makes enemies do twice as much damage. (Or maybe take?)

Super Smash Bros: I didn't see much about this, but the idea already has me so excited I could kill myself.
Wait, no, why would I do that? That's stupid. But I'm excite.

Mario Kart: Ehhh looks a bit too much like Mario Kart DS. The stages, I mean. Maybe that's just temporary because they haven't made any yet, or it's retro stages, but you think they'd have some unique levels to show off in the trailer...The water and flying thing is pretty unique and new, if you've never played Diddy Kong Racing. Highly dubious.

Luigi's Mansion 2: Bluh still haven't finished the first. I'm just wondering how the controls will work. I WILL WAIT FOR REVIEWS ON THIS.

Four Swords FOR FREE: I never got to play this, so the idea of giving that out for free is great. I hope you can do online though, because I'm still unsure I'll have anyone to play it with :(

Super Mario (Is that what they called it? Really??) just looks like Super Mario Galaxy. Which is okay, but have they not been listening to the "We want more freedom"? I liked Super Mario 64's hub world exploration, and the way you don't HAVE to get the stars in the right order. Sure some of them you need to select them to get it, but still has some freedom. I lost interest in the main Mario series, I think.
Mind you, the Mario RPGs have been weak lately. Super Paper Mario was a disappointment, and not an RPG, and Bowser's Inside Story was too easy, and too minigamey.

Bottom line: Don't fuck this shit up Nintendo I swear to god, if the new Paper Mario sucks I officially hate you.

Okay I went off on a tangent, I think it's time to wrap this up with one final note:
When that Ubisoft guy told the audience to do his stupid gimmick with himn, and no one did that stupid DOLOLOLOLOLO with him, that was the best moment in history, fuck yeah.
THIS NEW SITE SUCKS I'M LEAVING FOREVER I PROMISE, GUYS.
NOT BLUFFING, I'M GONE IF YOU DON'T FIX IT.
Oh god I'm so alone someone pay attention to me

Personally, I'm rather fond of their Assassin's Creed series, but I take it you don't care too much for it.

I didn't watch anything about E3, but Bioware announced some cool stuff in regards to ME3 (as much as I was willing to risk finding out, without hitting any spoilers). I also know that Volition released a lot of footage for Saint's Row 3, which was amazing and is a game I'm now ridiculously excited for.
