That's digital as in, "exist only in digital form", not "created digitally", methinks. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyhow! Here they be:
Bodyworld
The Lady's Murder
Speak No Evil
Vs.
Honestly, I haven't heard of or read any of 'em before this. I plan on givin' them all a looksee when I've got some time. "The Lady's Murder" looks most up my alley thus far.
Whatcha guys think? :)

Art wise they're painfully boring, like some 80's newspaper comics, maybe Vs. stands out i may read that later.

Yeah. None of them really appeal to me that much. I don't even think it's necessarily the art so much as the stories just don't look remarkably innovative or interesting. I feel like I'm seen way too many art-house comics like that. But that's kind of the Eisner's thing.

All of them have a unique feel to them.
I going to bet Bodyworld will win it though.
I tried pulling up Finder and it just continues to have a spinning hourglass never coming up.

I love Bodyworld! And I've been reading through The Lady's Murder and I love that one, too. I think TLM should win! Impeccable and a wonderful storytelling technique. Quite original!

wow, such blase reactions from everyone! I am surprised!
Bodyworld is amazing and innovative, it plays with the medium more than anything ive seen in a long while. It's not the typical comic and its very interactive in that regard.
never heard of the ladys murder, but i want to check it out.
I had head of speak no evil....but goddamn, did anyone else read it? amazing.
i havent heard of vs or the last one but i want to check them out.
man, reading those has made me really inspired! thanks!

I started reading bodyworld awhile ago. Got stuck on a large panel that was explaining rules of some sports game and I wasn't sure whether I want to trudge through that or just skip it and move onto the next. I plan to finish the story someday soon cause it's quite interesting.

I like the art of The Lady's Murder... it reminds me of Edward Gorey's stuff. "Finder" freaks me out with the 90's spinning hourglass... and lack of visible comic...
I think most of these comics must've been chosen because of their writing, though, because the art itself doesn't really grab me. Not to sound hoity-toity.
How do we find out the nominees for the best print comic?? I wonder if Fables is nominated for anything..

*I think the nominees for all categories (beware, there's like- a million) are on the ComicCon site.
I dunno why folks are dissin' the art. I've read TLM and Vs., and think they're both unique and really visually compelling.
Speak No Evil does have kinda run-of-the-mill art, but the writing reminds me a lot of Vonnegut's short sci-fi stories. It's got the kind of absurdity relayed as matter-of-fact that I'm a complete sucker for.
I think TLM is kinda like if Toulouse le Trec and Edward Gorey collaborated on a Jim Jaramusch film. I found another graphic story of hers (well, the first part) on the website for "Narrative" magazine, and it's more modern but still awesome. I think there's a link to the website on her site.
And I love the interplay between the black and white and color images in Vs. I wanna read the other stories in that "Neighbor" series now.
Still getting around to the other two.

I just re-read bodyworld... man oh man, that is some excellent shit. Really off the wall. It's a hard call between BW and TLM.

I didn't like TLM because it uses a really annoying 'asspull'(or clueless mystery [tvtropes.org]) ending trope, it sets itself up to be a clever whodunit and then tacks on a character in the end 'surprise it's clever yes?!'
I may have missed the point though. *shrug*
If she would have shown the murderer throughout the story subtly it would have been clever.

I didn't think it was supposed to be a mystery, so much as a kind of voyeuristic portrait of this dead woman through the eyes of the men she knew.
But I agree that I didn't think the ending was particularly clever- or rather, I think it underestimated the reader's intelligence/ attention to detail with the whole stabbing the crow thing. I mean, dude. C'mon. I saw the frickin' hat pin, okay? I made the connection. KISS. Keep it subtle, stupid! ;)

Checked'em out. I'm not sure, are they supposed to be the Eisner awards as in "awards for outstanding performance" or in "awards for Eisner imitators"?

If you have problems reading Finder, go to the main shadowline website and hit "web comics" in the upper right corner.
Then it should load properly.

Yea you guys got to be kidding me right?...
I just read Bodyworld, Lady's Murder and Speak no Evil. All AMAZING and inspirational work. They all deserve the nomination.
Bodyworld utilized the medium of digital comics very well and its narrative and pacing is captivating and beautiful.
Speak No Evil has such a wonderful premise and depth. It is brilliant.
Lady's Murder, the artwork. WOW. That's all I have to say about that.
Seriously, those of you who said these seem boring or not appealing or whatever, PLEASE go back and give it a second chance.
I am so pumped right now. I want to do short stories like these now! GAH!

Waaaah, someone is using a french style waaaah
it's so boring i want my mangu and animu waaaah
Yes if she showed all the detail involved and practically gave away who did it, it would be very clever. Real riveting experiance, that. Knowing who did it in a whodunit all along. Brilliant!

No dumbass, wove her into the story as what the reader would see as an inconspicuous background character instead of tacked on at the end as she was.

french style comics are gorgeous. I love the work of guys like Moebius. Frank Miller used a very sexy combination of french and japanese style illustration for ronin. I think i may imitate that for a project someday.
