Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I've recently acquired a Nintendo DS Lite with Animal Crossing: Wild World and let me just tell you -- I am in love with it! So my question to you all, since I'm fairly new to this portable gaming system is: What games do you recommend for the DS?

Note: I'm keen to all genres.

Sonic Rush
Resident Evil
Puyo Pop Fever (For multi-player insanity)
Pokemon (No brainer)
Megaman ZX

Those are pretty much must-haves.

I would suggest...

Chibi Robo Park Patrol
Metroid prime hunters if you like that kind of thing...
er... Mario party DS
Super Mario 64...

well, not much... but they are suggestions nonetheless.

I have to say that Mariokart DS is probably my favorite game in the Mariokart series.

Also, both of the Castlevania games released for the DS ("Dawn of Sorrow" and "Portrait of Ruin") are top notch. One of the great things about both games is the ability to unlock other game modes where you play through the game with other characters, and any Symphony of the Night fan would probably jump for DoS, since you can unlock the ability to play as Alucard.

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is a fun game - and you get to really utilize the touch screen (and the mic).

Also, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is kind of hilarious and horribly addictive, but it takes an odd sort of mind to like it. I like it, but I'm not so sure everyone else would.

I'm definitely getting Animal Crossing: Wild World and the Phoenix Wright games ASAP. They look downright awesome.
The Continued Misadventures of Bonebird - a poor bird's quest for the ever-elusive and delicious apples.

Well, I never actually got a DS (Played my sister's though), but all the games I would have gotten if I had the thing are already up here, so yeah.

Wait:

Front Mission First. I'm a big tactical-game-with-giant-robots fan.

Well, no one's said New Super Mario Bros. yet, and while the classic sidescoller Mario games are better, this one isn't bad.

If you're looking for unique stuff, Elite Beat Agents is pretty addictive, and Hotel Dusk is really cool. Both of those games go pretty cheap these days, too.

I've never been more addicted to a portable game than I was with Advance Wars: Dual strike. It's incredible, if you don't mind having to think.

I know this probably sounds silly, but Pokemon Diamond and Pearl make great long-term games if you haven't already gotten tired of the earlier versions.

That doesn't sound silly at all. It's a great strategy game.

If you like the really oldschool dungeon crawling RPGs with high difficulty levels, you might also like Etrian Odyssey.

Don't get the ones that suck. I'm not quite sure what games fall under that category though. I don't have a DS.

Contra 4

A great newly released shoot em up. I've been playing it for weeks now.
The dual screen brings a new twist to the old school formula.

New Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario 64 DS
Mario Kart DS
WarioWare Touched
Yoshi's Island DS
Kirby Squeek Squad
Wario Master Of Diusguise
Super Monkey Ball Touch and Roll

Those are some games I liked.

Nintendogs is a fun pet simulator.

Me too. I used to link up with my friends and it was good fun.

I would recommend the Mario 64, Metriod Prime and Resident Evil. They were all pretty entertaining and Metriod and Resident Evil both have multiplayer. True that Resident Evil's multiplayer is a bit half assed and could have been 1000 times better, but the fact that somebody finally made a zombie game have some form of multiplayer is a small plus.

Are the Castlevania games any good? I downloaded the Xbox Arcade version of CSotN recently, and loved it.
Please, please, you give me too little credit.

The Castlevania games are excellent, especially if you enjoy the SotN style of gameplay over classic Nes/SNES Castlevania fare.

Yeah, because we all know nobody plays Resident Evil Outbreak...

Yes. Dawn of Sorrow, especially if played along with Aria of Sorrow, is awesome. You can absorb the monster's powers. I've always liked the feeling of the different kinds of monsters having more of a purpose than just plain enemy variety.

Megaman ZXA, Megaman StarForce and Megaman StarForce 2 when it's released.

I also browse on my PSP and PS3. So if I'm online, I may be on them.
