I love it too!

yeah, the anime was very mellow and sorta confusing if you didn't pay attention the first time around.

but mostly I love the manga better, and also the second season of the anime.. where the second season or as they like to call it "hack//twlight", followed up on the manga and it was more lively and such.

I love the games though... I like how they generate random dungeons for you and such based on your keywords and stuff. ensures that you never get bored or see the same thing twice or so.

I sorta wish they would let you create your own unique character on it though.. but I hear that they're working on an game out for the PC that will allow that, also for multi player games with other players.

I liked the manga. Fairly sparse on backgrounds, but good concept. As for the first anime, it had excellent English dubbing and a good plot. Really slow though. And Tsukasa was WAYY to whiney.

Still, I'm kinda annoyed how they killed Sora at the end. He was so funny and cool during the series and then he just got killed off and no-one cared. He was only a 4th grader...

sora in dot hack was an player killer who went around killing people for fun in the game.

Sora, like many of .hack//sign's characters, is incredibly odd. Throughout most of the series, Sora seems to be the only true "villain". He frequently chases down players in an effort to extract their "information" (which might include their address or something else). He is also known as a Player Killer, which makes him stand out from others in The World. Of course, The World is mostly about cooperative gameplay. And so, Sora's focus on killing fellow players is odd and tends to pit him against just about everyone.

Sora has a sarcastic nature and is also incredibly arrogant. He seems to be interested only in his own personal goals and he constantly takes advantage of his high character level (which also seems to make him almost unbeatable for most players).

oh, and he wasn't killed.
Sora betrays the ".hackers" and joins Morganna. Then later, when Tsukasa, Subaru, and Mimiru meet Morganna in a chamber, Sora goes back to the ".hackers" side and betrays Morganna. When he trys to log out, Morganna sets up a barrier so he cannot run, and imprisions him in Skieth's wand. The real person playing Sora falls into a coma.

The .hack manga was good for the most part, but I think the ending was a bit abrupt. Seemed more "forced" than it should have been. Shame it wasn't made longer really. Just one or two more volumes to really flesh it out a bit more. =)

I played through all 4 games, including the bonus ending on part 4. That thing really could've been only about 3 games long. The OVAs that came with the game were so obscure, especially the first episode which was 15 minutes longer than it should've been. The only thing I really liked was the Legend Of The Twilight Manga which was the true sequal to both the games and Sign.

I enjoyed the anime. It kinda reminded me of a soap opera though for some reason. Just people standing around and talking a lot of the time. And I love the music. My sister's played some of the games and I think they bore her a little bit.

The game totally lost me in the 3rd one, with the whole cursed wave thing, might be because i never read the emails. That's probably the thing that truly set it apart. It had truly gave you a feel that you were on the internet with the message boards, emails, and even news, though i stopped reading them when there were big foot sightings.

That's even worse!

The fact is, he was a cool character who didn't deserve such a horrible fate.

Although Sora does end up free at the end of the 4th game. You even get him as a playable character after the final boss battle.
