Considering Grind, that's pretty weird.

My family has never seen anything web comic related as being a major accomplishment. It's a hobby for me, not a job. They're more proud when I actually do something that pays.

Not really Lothar's grandmother is in the porn industry- "Mature slut orgies" or something. It's pretty gross :(


She also has five unicorns and a castle in Germany. The porn business pays pretty good ;)

I don't know, the craigslist ads out here don't seem to suggest porn pays all that well. $50 for a lesbian couple to come in and do a nude photo shoot? If I was a lesbian, or a woman for that matter, I'd be insulted. Strippers make better money.

well she made most of that money back in the 30s . it was more profitable back then and she was hotter !! its a good thing i dont have access to a time machine or i might be tempted to go back in time and create a paradox


but seriously , other than grandma , Nobody cares about my comics. mainly cuz i dont talk about them .
back in prehistoric times before the internets i used to show my drawings to all my friends and family an stuff , im glad the neyt is here to save me from that potentially embarassing actions. if someday i decide i dont like my comic i can just dlete everything and dissapeer from the universe .

My wife could care less about my webcomic and my "family" would be appalled at my filthy sense of humor. I don't even think my wife reads my comic and my family is all right-winged Mormons that would lecture me about the "evils" of having a Cow and pig talk so much dirt.

My parents were happy when I told them about the multiple times I got on the front page of Sheezyart and the time I also got featured on there. So I'd imagine they'd be the same here.

My parents are the only people that read my comics! Well, them and my sister. =P

Well I do know that it depends a lot on the type of job and the people paying.
I doubt it pays as much as it used to and much of the talent will do a few hundred or a couple of thousand "films", but only over a short space of time... Maybe two or three years? But many of those that do that are often able to retire and live an easy life then, or at least able to fully buy a good house and car and pay off all their loans and debits. ...or maybe just afford an expensive drug habit.

It various a lot, because "porn" is a very wide umbrella, encompassing big studios all the way down to horrible backyard operators to home type cottage industry stuff.

I think it may have more to do with the economy. Most of the ads I've been seeing really aren't paying the kind of money you'd expect for that kind of work. It's kind of the same all over the entertainment industry, right now.

Well, if I ever (ahaha, no) hit a milestone, my family would be sad to hear it really..
I'm low enough already on the whole "interesting" scale (playing Naruto Videogames, watching Anime, uhmm... dork...), saying "Oh, 10 comic pages (yes, that's my idea of a milestone >.<) Oh yeah!"
Would just be really another thing to add. So uh... No... They don't care, whatsoever...

Well...my family either doesn't know that I have a comic or doesn't understand milestones whatsoever because they don't think of making a comic (or, in certain cases, art in any form) as being work. The ones who do know of my comic tend to be more surprised by the fact that my characters swear. In a comic full of rotting corpses, gore, and characters that kill people for a living (and sometimes entertainment), my family is bothered by the swearing.
