For the longest time, I've been kinda taking the easy way out in hoping that fan-interaction and those within similar cartoony/series would help benefit in positive word of mouth for me to get 'Keeping Up' noticed amongst many. As in like, "Wanna do an art trade? I'll do this if you do this," and kinda hoping for the best.
Are you the type that wouldn't mind going along with starting light with this kind of means of getting noticed, such as doing fan art or interactions with folks who are in similar interest - or do you prefer spending money or time in putting banners or links for people to see? What kind of advertiser are you, is what I'm getting at.
I've been doing pretty decent in terms of how KUWT is doing at the moment; I finally reached an agreement to provide one of the big groups on deviantArt some artwork and crossover pictures between my comic and the Disney film for that respective fandom, in exchange for a promotional blog and a link to a forum I've opened up on the sidelines.
How do you approach advertising?
