Those old games that only had one shot to exist, didn't do so well, yet you still own your copy when others have gotten rid of theirs long ago?
I was rummaging through my game collection and found an old PS2 game called Lifeline. The game required that you use the PS2's USB microphone headset. It wasn't the greatest game of its time, but it was pretty fun telling the girl what to do (no, nothing dirty folks). Kinda like a Resident Evil clone except you had no direct control over the character you were talking to.
I admit I still feel silly talking through the mic. -_-

Oh, I remember that game! It's a shame the technology was never used beyond that. D:

Yes I know that this game is retarded. It's also fun for some retarded reason.
This one is less retarded, but it's mostly just fun for the trolling

I've got tons of old stuff since I've been collecting for 20+ years, but my all time favorites are Mischief Makers and Earthbound with the original box, manual, and scratch n sniff. They're not really worth much (well, EB is) but they're some of my all time favorite games! SHAKE SHAKE!

I have a number of imports that you don't often find in the US (surprisingly in some cases). I actually have quite a few of the old Red games like the Ginga Ojousama Yuna series and all the Sakura Taisen games.
I picked up the PS2 remake of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (not exactly old, but it didn't really get a wide release, either). I will never get rid of Skygunner. I still pick up the PS2 Berserk game every now and then, too.
I really wish my Dreamcast hadn't died, or I'd still be playing Puyo Puyo~n at every opportunity. I also still have a copy of Seaman. A friend of mine and I seem to be at odds over which is superior between Panzer Bandit for the PSX and Guardian Heroes for the Saturn, although I do own both. I also have a copy of Radiant Silvergun sitting on my shelf which I'm sure is probably worth something on ebay.
Oddly enough, I still have the Yuu Yuu Hakusho and Sailor Moon SuperS fighting games for the 3DO and we sold the system ages ago. YYH wasn't very good, but you can't exactly sell it anywhere, either. Sailor Moon was at least a decent Street Fighter clone except for the cheesy characters like Chibimoon who could WALK under fireballs and Sailor Uranus who for some reason had two hit boxes on her crouching light kick, one in front of her where it should be and the other half way across the screen.
I miss the good old days when I could just run up to my local game store and pick up the latest imports. Now I either have to order online or wait for the next convention.

Found this nifty little DOS -based game on a floppy in my filing cabinet the other day called World Empire. Its actually kinda awesome. You get up to eight opponents, Each turn you get a number of armies based on how many countries you've conquered. you use those armies to go conquer more countries and your opponents. For being 1.3MB in size its remarkably complex and well done.

While in Japan I picked up a few relatively uncommon SNK fighting games for the original Gameboy. They're not great by any means, but they're uncommon. They're Fatal Fury and Samurai Showdown.

Aladdin for the Genesis. Surprisingly intriguing.
Primal Fury
Magi-Nation: Best. Game. Ever.
Banjo kazooie + Tooie: Ha! Now I shall defeat you... with quiz cards!!
Pokemon Snap: I will never get rid of this game because it has a photo with the caption "Suffer puffy mortal!!" on it. I still laugh my head off when I see it.

I actually have a copy of the Atari ET game. My dad's coworker was unloading his Atari and all of his games, so I bought them. And there it was. I can see why it got buried out in the desert.
I also own a couple of the semi-rare games. Thousand Arms and most of the older Atlus games in general, which sell for a good bit on E-Bay these days.

Speaking of Atlus, I've got the GBA game Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lotis sitting around at home. MAN do I love that game. It was actually pretty hard to find, even right after it was just released. I found it at a store not typically known for selling games.
I loved it so much that I bought a another one off eBay (probably a bootleg) just so my little brothers could play it. Years later, they're still making trips through the game. It was a lot better than Square's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

I have this awesome PS1 game called The Unholy War. Incredibly under the radar. A tactical strategy action game with a great story.
And I also came across Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage a few years ago in GameStop for Dreamcast for 9.99. I never get tired of chopping up people in half. :kitty:

Hey, I still have that game too. My grandma had hundreds of Atari games (along with an Atari), and I always looked forward to going to her house to play it. When she died, it all got passed onto me. Those games are still fun.
...I don't know if this counts as a one-shot, but I have Atari's "The Temple of Elemental Evil" for the PC. The characters are controlled via radial menus, which in my opinion is one of the coolest methods of organization I have ever seen in an RPG game in a long time. I played a demo of it a few years back at the San Diego Comic-Con and I think I was one of the ten people who bought it.

Plus, it's based on one of the best D&D modules, like....ever.

MoonWalker.
Not great, realy, but "ROTFL" type stuff. You have to "save" kids to beat the level.
Also, a great one was Earth Worm Jim. GREAT game.

I was pretty young when these all came out on the SNES, so I'm not sure what people thought of them:
- Joe and Mac
- Stunt Race FX
- Mario's Time Machine
- Mario is Missing
- Faceball 2000
- Super James Pond
- Family Dog

I bought a very interesting game couple of years ago on the PC entitled: "Shadow Of Destiny"
It's similar to Monkey Island, Broken Sword, kinda feel but in a unique kinda way. Honestly, it's one of the most unique games I've ever played. It has such an interesting storyline with different endings. It has such a powerful philosophy and moral behind the story about destiny and other stuff (it has alchemy too).
I highly recommend it.
