Hey everyone,
I was wondering how many people keep track of their stats here? I find them interesting and entertaining. My page views go from 30, to 40, to 40, and back 30 again. Then all of a sudden I get a huge day were it is like 300 hits. I seems to think it is when I hit certain crescendos in my story. It could be random. I entertain myself by watching these stats go all over the place. I am entertained by so little anymore:)

Do you guys keep track of your stats?

I've actually stopped viewing my stats because it began to feel too important. I'm doing this because I love it, & I started putting too much emotional weight behind my rankings & how many people were viewing my books.
As long as I get a few responses to each page/tier I post, I'm more than happy.
Sounds a little bullcrappy, but I mean it.
Later,
Chip

I wish I'd had Chip's philosophy from the beginning. Right now, I check my stats all the time, as if they're really some measure of how good my comic is- I should know better. I'm not going to point any fingers or name any names, but I do know that there are comics ranked below me that could be number one, and comics above me that could be 2456, or something. Anyway, I think I'm going to try slowing down on the stat staring. :D

Well, I do check but I usually don't care unless I somewhow end up in the 300s and below. My comic usually stays in the top 100 to 120 by itself, I have awesome readers who check back daily, apparently. <3 You guys rock.
The only reason I check my stats though is to make sure people are atleast looking. I do comics because its fun, however, its kind of disheartnening when you work really hard and get, maybe 50 views. D:

Every chance I get, I constantly scan my homepage and my mirrors (here and at Spritechat) for stats and replies, as well as my forum and the topic at DrShnaps. Comments and the like are extremely important to me, because it helps when I know people like this page and the story altogether.

At first it was fun and I looked at them all the time. Now I don't bother too much with them.
It ranges from 350 (yesterday) to only 10 (one day last month).
After being featured I reached #16 most read with thousands of hits per day, so I know it takes A LOT of hits to be up there.
I'm just waiting to have more pages to promote my comic a little and start checking the stats, just for fun.
If you ask me about comic comments, that's another thing. I'm obssesed!

I don't use the pageviews section in the stats to gauge whether or not I'm doing a good job, because they jump ALL over, but I'm totally addicted to checking anyways. :b Considering I have so few pages, sometimes I wonder how I can get so many hits out of nowhere. Usually I rank how well I'm doing by the comments I get from people. Because it's one thing to see a comic, it's another to take the time and comment.

I didn't at first, then I checked back a few weeks ago and found out I was in the top 100, very close to being on the top 5 strips shown on the front page.
I was more then suprised.
Then I saw the ranks froze up for some reason, and I was a little peeved. Just because when it seemed I might be on top, it froze.

My stats dosn't change much, so there's no fun it looking at them more than every other day or so. And that's more of a has-anybody-actually-been-here-at-all? thing.

I'm always checking my stats. It's like I'm a junkie or something and i don't know why, I think the most I ever got for The Zoo at Home [the] was like 190 readers for one day and I was ranked like #241. I would LOVE to see a huge number like 300 readers at least once.

I used to check my stats all the time, back when I was still really interested in where my comic was ranked and everything. Now for about the last month, I dunno. I'm just not really as concerned about it. I get a good amount of readers who leaves great comments that I love to read and that keeps me satisfied.

I look at my stats every day to see if someone's commented xD
I absoloutely love knowing what people think of my comic, as it is so precious to me. Not only that, but im always looking for new ways to improve, and quite often others can see things i don't. It's great :)

I really need to follow Chip's example - bad stats can be really discouraging to me, and yet I know I'll do the comic regardless, so it just makes me feel like I'm forcing myself to waste my own time if my stats are too low.
