Very good movie. I give this a 5/5. I like how it brings up the socio-political issues of aliens living among us.
It accurately portrayed the ideas of racism, culture shock, and how the government would sell you the idea of putting you in a concentration camp.
Must watch. Highly reccomended.

Mr Lostman
Actually, I could get into that, PP.
Who wouldn't?
I haven't seen this movie on the grounds that it hasn't started to run here. I looked up the air date and it's three months from now.
Fraking hell, what are those bozoes thinking? I rather watch a cam version instead of waiting that long.
Those were my two cents.

I also must say that all you sociopathic police and bureaucrats who enjoy making people suffer should watch this movie and pay attention to the "Wikus" character.
And I hope you realize how much you are loved by the system you serve.

Thank you for posting that Youtube Saint, I had no idea District 9 was based on a short film. I should have guessed though, a lot of the better atypical movies come from those, like the upcoming film 9.
Lefarce, I think which film you see depends on what you prefer. I saw Inglorious Basterds this morning and I have to admit, it wasn't bad. Much more entertaining than I thought it was going to be. It has its fast and slow moments, but there are a lot more laugh out loud moments than District 9.
District 9, on the other hand, I thought was the better overall movie. In addition to the social/political commentary, the effects are amazing, the story I think is top notch, and I left the theater feeling satisfied. There is some humor in it, but it has a much more serious feel to it than Inglorious Basterds did.
No matter which one you see, I think it'll be money well spent.

So far, this and Moon are the only two movies I've really enjoyed this year.

The story was nothing new....but it was how they told it that made all the difference.
Great movie.
Would see again.
