Does anyone else play it? It's the best RPG I've ever played in my opinion.

Seen it played, but never actually played it. Looked like fun, though.

I prefered Final Fantasy Tactics, personally. Better story and AI with a deeper game system. The puzzle elements were decent in Disgaia, but the maps in the game which were randomly generated seemed to remove most of the strategy associated with the destructable tiles. In the end, it seemed more like one of those Japanese adventure games with a tacked on tactical sim, only the adventure game was removed (like Sakura Taisen without the dating sim). I also didn't like how they force lengevity by making you level to excessive heights to get the better endings.

It still saddens me that this is such a big genre in Japan, yet nobody has yet managed to match the depth, playability, and overall design quality of the original FFT.

Great game. Loved the use of combos, especially when i got four people into one! The only thing i don't like about games like this and FF tactics is the fact that leveling is a pain in the ass. Disgaea 2 is out already isn't it?

Never heard of it. Could someone post a link to a screenshot or something like that. This game sounds fun.

Actually in FFT it was pretty easy. You had random encounters, little cheap ways of power leveling quickly (accumulate can get you several levels in each fight), and the bar jobs which would give you free experience for doing pretty much nothing. Plus with the ease of switching classes, you didn't need to have nearly as many characters in FFT. Also, unlike Disgaea, the game actually punishes you for leveling too quickly (random encounters start to have equipment well above the level of equipment you can buy). It isn't necessary to spend a lot of time leveling like it is in Disgaea.

Actually, You can only get punished for leveling too quickly in Disgaea 2. The first Disgaea does not punish you.

Also, it isn't punishment, it has a high chance of being a reward, it's just that if you do it way too much after getting the reward, then the Dark Court fines you Innocent. In other words, you get sent to Dark World.

Nice and good I hate it when some one play one level for way to long and get way to high a level to beat the whole game on the first try!

I like Disgaea but I actually preferred Phantom Brave. For some reason, I found it hilariously fun to get a titlist and level up to about level 300 in the random dungeons before I got to the third chapter in the actual story, then just go through and pretty much beat the entire game with one character.

Or maybe I'm just too easily amused. lol!

Disgaea and it's sequel were great, but Makai Kingdom is better.

Disgaea and Phantom brave are two of may favorite games. It was too bad though, I enjoyed the story of Disgaea better, but I really liked the battle system of Phantom Brave better. Now if only I could find a way to merge the two of them into one super awesome game....

I still play it from time to time. Game is worth being added to any RPG collection.

Yeah, the Disgaea series is awesome, though I have to agree with Isukun on FFT been the deeper and ultimately better game.

Love the character design in Disgaea though, the female warrior is a personal favourite of mine
