Ok, I'm trying to decide the future of any "sort of sequels" to Din Krakatau. sort of, as they're supposed to be stories happening in the same "universe", usually loosely tied to each other. Each volume is supposed to be a separate story, but at some point (if I get that far) they're supposed to connect (with all the characters returning and having a giant party... and by party I mean battling a threat big enough to wipe out most of the world).
So basically Din Krakatau became volume 1 of "Amen City Chronicles". I rewrote some text here and there (minor fixes mostly), relettered everything and prepared both color and greyscale versions of the pages (for two print editions) and all the "sequels" will be b&w most likely.
Now, what am I supposed to do with the online version? I don't want to continue under the current name (since obviously it's not the name of the entire series anymore) and I'm drawn towards restarting it (after it finishes that is) under the new name and then just keep on adding later volumes after that... and perhaps use the "chapter" menu to jump between volumes (or put links with tiny "covers" into the page template?)
On the other hand I could start a separate comic for each volume, but that'll be a bit messy with keeping the order right (besides, I'm planning to have other, unrelated titles and even if I put the series title into later volumes, Din Krakatau will still get lost among unrelated titles).
Also, keep the color pages? Or go for the b&w ones for consistency with later stories? Any thoughts? :)

Well . . . as for the online version, the least amount of effort would be to re-title it something like "The AC Chronicles Raw" or even "The AC Chronicles Uncut" for the time being. Make it plain that this online version is worth reading but that it won't exactly match up with the print editions for a while.
As for color work, yeah it generally jars people to have the artist keep switching between black and white and color segments. If you are willing to invest the time, then putting everything into black and white or grayscale would be better. People generally don't care as long as everything matches.
I favor the chapter menu idea but I admit that either methodology should work just fine. Creating separate comics for each volume WOULD be messy and confusing I think.

Hmm, I'll think about that. Maybe just add "version 0.9" to the logo or something.

See, on one side I want to make it a little bit more consistent (a little, since my art style is very fluid and it changes every month or so, thus making it impossible to be REALLY consistent), but on the other I spent few hundred hours coloring the damned thing so might as well show it. Basically it's a joice between treating the color version as "as seen on the net" while b&w is a "budget edition" OR making it look like b&w is the standard one and color is a "deluxe" version...

Ok, thanks for your comments. After sleeping over the problem I'm currently thinking of this:
leave the current edition as it is. Start a new comic and modify some template to fit my needs better (build a custom one perhaps?), then, start the comic again but on a daily schedule, seven pages a day, thus giving myself time to work on the second volume. Possibly use BOTH chapter menu and the icons and put the volume title into the page name.
Still on the fence about the color/b&w though. Oh well, it's still few months away from that. I just like to worry ahead :)
