Priest_Revan, I like your use of color, but I also like your sense of humor that comes across in your jokes and your use of poses, body language, and expressions.

++++++ +++++++ +++++++ ++++++++ +++++++ ++++++++ +++++++

Okay, I've just updated, and if it works out that I can chew gum and figure out the link command on DD then you'll get a link to that specific POLITICS page, but, if not, then just click on my avatar and hope for the best.

Okay, if I did this right, the link following this sentence should take you to the page.
http://www.drunkduck.com/POLITICS/index.php

SO, why should you go and take a gander at the latest POLITICS page? Well, this update features a stoned, snarky, cynical, politically-conservative clown pointing out why he's currently more popular with my readers than his pretty, shapely, formal-gown-wearing opposition, liberal co-host; and so YOU get to judge who's correct.

But I'll give you fair warning. The art work is deliberately minimalist and static in nature. Either the gag carries the day for the strip or it goes belly-up. On any given update, it could go either way.

Ah, and since I am currently updating several times per day, if the current one bombs, there'll be another one to sneer at anon.

Okay, let me post this bugger and see if the link works. Wanna bet whether or not I'll have to use the edit feature?

Sadly the clown, definetly not the webcomic we usually find, I liked a lot the contrast between the clown and his personality, you can easily read more than one in a few minutes, and you won't get tired. I don't think the minimalist artwork would be a problem, it fits the comic well.

Now just a quick update on Spirit's Magic . I think that I'm getting better with this pages, but there are still some details, like the shadows, that I need to improve.

<--- by the way crits are more than welcome =D

You should visit my comic because... well, really, what the hell do you have to lose?

Lancaster the Ghost Detective

HPK's being an assbitch and making me follow the rules of the thread, so I have to comment on yadiel's comic.

Looks pretty good. The character design reminds me a lot of Dragon Ball. I take issue though that it seems to be just a regular "shojo-type manga" comic. There wasn't much to hold my interest in the pages I saw, but the comic isn't terrible, just not my cup of tea. Keep up the work and you'll improve into something fantastic :D

Don't lock it just 'cause some people can't read...

Galactic Hub Serreven: I've been a reader of that comic pretty much ever since I got here, and I loved it all the way. Can't believe I missed four pages since the comic is back on. So I went straight back to the last page I read and the one after. And what can I say? The art's top-notch, as always. And the "chemistry" between the robot and the alien always cracks me up.

Lancaster: it's also one of my faves, but I haven't been able to dig all the way through the MASSIVE archive. I absolutely love the artwork. The soft shading looks wonderful. The characters are almost UNBEARABLY cute. Yes, I know, it's an odd thing for a guy to say, but DID YOU SEE THE DUCKY?

And now...

PLUGGING TIME!

I just updated and you should go see my comic because:
1. It's cheesy - but only a bit! It is about love - but not your average crush!
2. It's got something for the girls: two cute male characters - and for the guys: one STUNNING girl!
3. It's PACKED with all sorts of minutiae just waiting to be discovered the attentive reader.
4. The author's blog comes with many amusing anecdotes (at least amusing for me, not so for my poor Erica)
5. It's got pretty colors! Wooo!

Yep. It's not hard to ignore the interim posts. :) Stop reminding people. You don't need to police the thread. It just adds clutter, and the people who are doing things right can "fix" the previous breaks in flow.

I like A Bit Cheesy. The art is just perfect. Clean, good sharp shadows. Lots of fun. It's got nice colors and a fun story. And, um, yes, those are some cute male characters! (I have 20-some pet rats, so rodent comics always make me smile.)

My update:

Today's update of Used Books brings an abrupt end to a fairly brutal beating/attempted murder of one of the protagonists. There's a bit of a twist here, one that I don't think any of my readers saw coming, and different than my usual types of resolutions.

For my first post on here... HPKomic posted before me. I like his comic. He has a great use of color and his layouts are really great from a design standpoint. I only checked out the 3 most recent pages.. but I'm going to go back and read what I can eventually.

and for Spacehamster. I've actually already read Bulletproof before posting on this thread. I really liked your first issue. I checked out some of the pages for the new issue and it looks good. I wish it was still in color, but I understand that takes a lot of time especially if you're doing everything yourself. I'll be going back and reading what you have so far for issue 2.

Anyway. Plug time.

Human City is a black&white with greyscale comic.
The capes in Human City are corrupt cops and dictators of the city. The criminals are desperate poor people who steal anyway they can to survive.
Thats all I can really talk about on it for now. I am only partway through the first of 5 (or 6) chapters. The first chapter is the "action" chapter and I'm going to go back in time and have the back-story chapters eventually.

Gavin has an interesting use of pencil shading and an effective, if a bit crude, way of expressing action. The story seems pretty familiar but the execution is solid and you've got some intestine in there, which is like the elusive anime panty shot to a gore fiend like me. I look forward to where the story is going and until further story development, I can't say much except that it seems FUN so far and interesting in a dystopic sort of way.

Irrumator updated today with an Extras page. They appear every weekend and are generally composed of neat stuff like character designs, test pictures I use to create atmosphere and other weird stuff.

Why should you read Irrumator? Because it's something a yaoi fan might write after reading too many blood books and watching Wicked City seventeen times in a row. It has demons, naked men and is just. plain. gross. All the characters are horrible people and there is an avid attempt to have no moral center what so ever. It also updates every day of the week. Madness.

irrumator: Excellent character design there, and I love the style of the line-art, you use black and white so well. The hatch-markings in the lower part of the image look particularly time-consuming.

GHS updated just now. A new character profile included in the author's notes. Plus, it has the security guy from way back from the first GHS storyline!

Whoo!

Glad the thread got cleaned up. I know I just posted, but I also just updated again (and my last post seems to have been lost or ignored in the shuffle), so please check out today's update of Used Books for lots of crazy mixed emotions and intense dialogue. I like it better than yesterday's update anyway, though yesterday was the "twist."

@hpkomic: I like the way you depict everyone talking at once. :) And the facial expressions are great. I could so easily imagine GHS as an animated series or a movie. The art is top notch, and it's always very entertaining.

@usedbooks Very nice page today. Very emotional and it was satisfying. The only thing I noticed is that I would expect the characters to look a little bit more sad, but that's okay.

I just updated my comic and the only reason I have for anyone to read it today is the fact that I have a stereotypical Gym coach in it today.

@2's a Company: Someone else has already said this about a previous strip, but your strength art-wise is definitely in the expressions of the characters, and your writing is really funny.

Today's Bulletproof page features Shyft being a total bitch to everybody plus my favorite one-liner in issue 2. I get a bit of a kick out of this page myself because I've posted zillions of pinups of the character on dA, but this is the first time I get to show her... less than approachable personality.

I like how every page is like a movie. The angles constantly change and the perspectives seem to be one of the strongest suits in the comic. I like the vibrancy the colors bring and your line art is also really good. Plus the characters are easily relatable and the story doesn't go flying off the handle into some nether region where no one can understand what the hell is going on like some do. It's simple, well made, and enticing.

Well today in DO1 we have moved to an actual story arc. Woo Hoo! The page was rushed so it came out much worse than I had planned but it's just a segway to Wednesday's update so I guess it can stand to suffer. Had to update a day earlier than anticipated but what can ya do right? Anyways here ya go. DO1

DO1 is a gamer comic, which is a well tread genre but the latest comic is pretty funny, mostly because Oblivion really is the most soul sucking life stealing game out there, that isn't an MMO. The art is rough but then, when PA first started, their art was far worse. It's a very solid start to a gamer strip and the writing is decent.

The Extra for Irrumator today, has a liopleurodon in it, which is just plain cool.

Irrumator has a well-developed art style that looks fantastic. The look in the dinosaur's eye makes it look like it's about to do something both horrible and hilarious to the guy.

Rent-A-Thug updated today with the next installment of Protection Rackets & Head Trauma. Charlie No-Aim's resiliency isn't helping him, and Amir is realizing that Captain Impressive's help might not be something he really wanted. You should be reading Rent-A-Thug because of the unique art style and bizarre characters.

Frank Baron, NSO also updated (because I like only having to remember one update day). The President of Zinkland and Colonel Cozalien of Rosha are preparing for a joint speech to the public, and neither of them wants the other to make it there alive. In today's update Zinkland's National Security Organization is briefed on the situation and Director Cochrane hopes that Frank's booze-addled grey matter is functioning well enough to understand it.

Due East has updated. Today is a special Star Trek parody filler which still has a tie-in with one of our Due East characters. I just couldn't resist the concept of some of the lead Star Trek actors from several of the series getting together and brainstorming for the next Trek movie. In-jokes galore (try to catch them all)!

American007 is officially my favorite sprite comic. I don't follow it regularly, but it truly is standout for its genre. The use of colors, the enlarged characters, and the way the action and dialogue are worked in with the backgrounds is consistently pretty impressive. I like the most recent one, even though I'm not 100% sure what type of attack Shadow used, but it looked cool!

2's A Company - I like the art style. I think I liked the kid's sarcasm and the notations ("Another manly pose" ) more than the actual punchline. Use of colors is good but it would really benefit from some backgrounds. :)

Today's Weirdlings update features an obscure quote from the movie Hannibal which I thought appropriate to the character of Nyarlathotep.

@TheMidge28 - Nice work on the splash page of Yokai-Blood/Hound. I also like your minimal use of colors, it adds to the mood of the story. Your art style has clearly improved over time.

Irrumator has updated today, as it does everyday, and it's in COLOR. WOO. The horrible zombie skin tone of the main character, is pretty atrocious.

I don't really get Weirdlings but I don't think it was meant for me. Cartoony design and bright colours. I'm assuming the characters come from Lovecraftian sources, since Nyarlathotep is chilling with a hot babe in the most recent strip.

FIGHT 1 has updated today. Chapter 5: Die Hard.

After 4 chapters, FIGHT will finally have some action. That goes for FIGHT 2 as well, which will get its new chapter started later this week. This is a pretty pivotal chapter which will influence the party's course of action for the next 8 chapters.

Irrumator:
The title says Death, Sex, and Yaoi, but thankfully I didn't see any yaoi. All I saw is a comic which does what it sets out to do - convey horror and darkness with its art, lettering, and storytelling choices. Where the author uses B&W, it's heavy and oppressive as it should be. Where he uses color, it's bleached and rotten as it intends.

There's cannibalism, tentacles, surrealism-inspired poses, and boys licking disturbing beasts. Check it out if you're looking for something in this genre.

First things first:

@mlai:
Fight 1 and Fight 2 are very well-drawn, and rather interesting. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten much of a chance to actually READ everything, since I'm starting from the beginning (and my personal time today is pretty much shot). But I really and truly like where it's going. (BTW, Felicia cameo= +5 gamer points. :))

Tales of the World: Narikiri Rangers , as the title may have revealed, is a Tales sprite comic. Why is it a good read? Humor + unique takes on after-game history + well done, not over-flashy effects = great... in my honest opinion. Plus, I've recently started up a fan letter service, even though I've only recieved one letter so far, and I'm raring to find more.
(If you're interested in submitting a letter, check out the rules in this thread's first post.

Today's update makes a reference to a sidequest in the game Tales of Symphonia, and is the start of a saga that centers on...an old villain, to put it mysteriously.

And I know that the first 20-odd comics are very page-stretchy, but I haven't had the time to go back and put them into my nice new format. Kindly forgive my grievous error.

Because the new updates feature the appearance of THE FUTURE TELLER, and includes fixedsys font. FUTURE

I've not read all of THE IRRUMATOR yet, but so far i'm liking what I see. In particular the art style.

TALES OF THE WORLD
is a sprite comic. I'm not into sprite comics much myself, and i've never played any of the tales gmaes, but:
The composition is good. You can tell what's going on w/ no difficulty.
The art improves nicley as it progresses.
The text is clear... but I think sometimes you overdo it. The speech bubbles can get a bit crowded from time to time XD

@Doyora Steinbaum:

Your comic is pretty funny...After reading through the first couple of strips, I came to appreciate the humor even though things seemed to move a bit quickly for me. Still very good, will make sure to check in now and then.

My other comic, Sonic Battle Revolution , has updated today. As the title somewhat suggests, this Sonic comic follows unique storylines crafted to bridge the gap between Sonic Battle and Sonic Advance 3. It can be humor-dominated at times, much like Narikiri Rangers, but there are shining moments mixed in now and again.

Today's update is basically the first part of the fight between Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic's evil, dark-Chaos-endowed clone.

Unfortunately, the first comics also suffer from stretch disease. And I suffer from "time shortage disease", so when they're going to be fixed...is anyone's guess.

Hope you enjoy!

okay well, when ever I read sprite comics I try to
be more open minded.

I'm not really up to date on the Sonic story line from
the recent games... so It was a bit hard to even try to
follow along the story. I read the first three strips and
the latest.

about the newest strip- it's done well and the
action is conveyed nicely... but to me the whole
thing feels a little bit bunched up composition wise.
I cant seem to keep my eye focused on one panel.
maybe the complex background?
I dont want to say make the panels smaller cause it'd
be impossible to read the text if you did that...
maybe stack the panels vertically? that way the reader
can start from the top and slowly go downwards...
just a suggestion. overall its a good looking sprite comic.

Lost Invisible

Updated today and will update every tuesday from now.
Chapter 9 "the balance". After The fight against Mirage,
Redd and Katy get some questions answered by Phantom,
who, says his last words for the chapter and now
we're back to the present... Redd is disturbed by the
disappearance of Cody and now his past is colliding with
his thoughts...

uhh.. Read it cause I had to redo the page all over because
photoshop died on me, making me do the whole page twice.
(yeah I didnt save... T_T )
And people seem to like the story ^^;

Kxela: The high contrast of your characters compared to their backgrounds works to an extent, but your characters could benefit from some more shading themselves. Your art is quite good with the details as well, such as the lines you use for the hair and stitching.

GHS updated! New profile is for a personal favorite character of mine, Guugel.

The update itself features a certain new character who will play a huge roll in future stories.

It goes without saying that Galactic Hub is so freakishly adorable it causes heads to explode. Rocking, professional cartoon style without looking completely formulaic and boring like a lot of modern cartoons look these days. There is also SPACE.

Irrumator has updated and while there's not much happening in this panel, I am trying out an earlier 'square' layout. There is cigarette smoking though, which is pretty hot.

//priest_revan: Congratulations on 75th page on 2's A Company. On this page? The middle panel speaks truths of all kinds in any kind of school-area. I remember doing the same to all my friends in class, wondering if they were in that particular class. The page looks great along with the color. I love how both characters appear in the same panel on the third, two reactions shown without having to make two more panels.

Also, damn you for replying faster than me. I'm not gonna let my other comment on Irrumator go to waste so here it is in it's full entirety. :D

//irrumator: My, my, my, the smoking is pretty hot and makes the character look pretty damn bad-assed. I'm also interested in where this is going, it just oozes style and this eerie ominous darkness. You know, this page reminds me of something out of film noir. Makes me want to turn up some classical jazz, put on a detective hat and draw the shades all while smoking and contemplating my past.

Somewhere in SF updates with a page where I try some more experimenting on the shading side with an even smoother brush. In this page, Natalie (clueless diltz) convinces Jenny (the maid) to stuff a gigantic fish plushie under her dress, making her looks pregnant. This is one of those pages were I just had fun creating it.
