We all have different ways that we started doing webcomics, but were you lucky enough to have a mentor or an experienced member of the webcomic world help you get your foot in the door?

My mentor(s): I think that the person that gave me a big chance in webcomics was KC Green. (go visit him at www.rumblo.com now...NOW!!!). He and Alex C and Keegan Bassett (of shiny things fame) invited me to take over one of their webcomics. I drove the poor thing into the ground when DD crashed last november when we (me and the other artist's) stopped and never really started again (though if given a second chance I'd immediately whip out the JATM sprites). If that group of guys hadn't let me into the world of webcomics I think that I wouldn't be here now, I would have just let webcomics be a passing phase instead of a near-obession. Thanks guys for addicting me to a time-consuming, never-see-the-light-of-day, passion-for-making-and-reading-stories hobby.

Alex Kolesar of No Need for Bushido has given me a lot of pointers. Good guy. Great comic too.

I really dont have a mentor but the guy that got me interested in webcomics was Dave from http://www.snafu-comics.com/ hes a cool guy and answers any stupid noobish webcomic question I have. But no real mentor for me.

I've taken little bits of advice from plenty of people, but really there hasn't been that one person who's watched over me the whole time.

None. Never had a teacher. I just like to write stories, and I have always been a decent artist for my age.. just seemed obvious to me to start making comics.

God, who HASN'T given me good advice? But I'd have to say it was Lowresatari who was my mentor for a long time.

Dan Shive inspired me, though we've never actually talked/interacted. All I need to to do is read is comic and it refreshes my faith in webcomic-kind.

When I started looking for hosting this dude who's name is on the tip of my tongue suggested Drunk Duck. He was ummm... southern? Had a comic with the date on the top of each comic page. It was a very artistic, dark, journalish comic. And his forum icon was a squirrel(?) for a while. What was his name? Anyway, yeah. He was totally the most helpful, encouragement at the start. (If only I could remember his name. Or his comic's name. Or where he was from.)

He's not really a mentor per se but his continuous interest and amazing art skills inspire me to keep on improving. I ventured into webcomics because of him. I want his imagination !!
