Second, today's comic, Tanuki vs. Pyro Jack, awesome fight. Like I said, I would volunteer to be her attack tester.

I'd also like to point out that this is my 100th forum post *throws confetti* so I should be getting a little trophy for it on my profile lol

So is the reason Ema could see Jack Frost because she was really Baku? Or does the "Demons can be seen if they want to" reason still stand?

Admittedly I did just make up that reason so that people wouldn't question it.

Yes, the reason he could be seen is obviously because it was Baku

But if you think about it and play the games...it does seem like Demons can be seen if they want to be seen.

Like that Ippon-Datara that disguises itself as a maid in the second game. I'm pretty sure you can talk to a few NPCs who comment on the maid standing there.

So...Don't count the thing about demons able to be seen if they want to be seen as total bull pies just yet :P

I may need to use it in another story some day.

Obviously demons can be seen by humans in the Dark Realm...just fyi for if that ever comes up.

In regards to today's comic, leave it to Tanuki to turn an erotic move into an attack.

Wow, fight scenes are tough. I'm just not very good at them.

Pacing is the hardest part of it (besides the actual...drawing anyways) Because I've got this fight played out in my head but I need to get everything into like 8 comics.

So in chapter 4 here i've actually started working BACKWARDS from the end of the chapter.

It's going alright, you won't notice it when it's done. I'm just trying to make sure I've got all the stuff I wanna do out of the way.

I think the fight scenes are pretty good so far ;) Keep up the good work!

This means 2 things. One, the series can eventually evolve into being drawn by hand, and 2...I need to learn how to use it.

Unfortunately, what I'm trying to say is that the series will go on a brief hiatus after chapter 5 (the end of the current arc basically)

Which if I don't miss any updates at all should be on...August 13th.

This may seem like bad news because it means for a brief period I won't be having any updates on any comics, and I know how sad you'd all be with no J.C. Scott comics to brighten your day xD

But I'm sorry, I will be taking a brief break from Raidou during that time.

Look on the bright side, this is Mid-August, meaning Persona 3 Portable will already be out and I'll probably be started on the FeMC comics by that time.

So...I guess every cloud has a silver lining.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the comic today. I think it turned out pretty good

I will miss new comics, but I know that it will all be for the sake of progress and is better in the long run :)

Alright everyone. Even though I should have gotten the results by now, I have no idea how I did on my math final...so...I'm a little worried.

However, I have some good somewhat MegaTen related news.

Those of you who don't know this, I play the SMT MMO game Imagine. My character is named Haurus, i'm in the clan Destiny, it's all in this pamphlet

Anyway, I recently have accomplished everything I ever wanted to do in that game. I have my 3 dream demons set up exactly the way I want them (Mothman, Succubus and Hayagriva) and I have 100 demons registered in the compendium so I unlocked an extra space

In other words...my main is peaked. There isn't much else I wanna do with the character. So maybe I'll work on my alts now.

Anywho, today was free comic book day, I actually just hung out at the store and pushed a lot of traffic towards my comics. So hopefully I'll have some new readers soon.

Oh! I have a question: Did characters like Johei have different designs?

Johei originally had brown hair and wore cargo pants but other than that he didn't change much. I think I also toyed with the idea of him wearing glasses but I never drew him like that.

Baku went through ONE major change design wise and then about...5 color changes. In his original design (which I think I still have somewhere) he looked more like an actual tapir. He was on all fours, he wore a big poofy hat (think Young Zelda in Ocarina of Time) and he had two large bags hanging over his sides. Kinda like a mule carrying coffee bags.

I liked the design but it didn't really seem to fit for the sidekick demon, the "Pikachu" of the series. So once I settled on his bi-pedal fun-ness design I ended up making some color changes.

At first he was just tapir colored but it meant he was the same color as Gouto, Johei's school uniform, both of Ema's outfits, Tanuki's outfit and so on and so forth, the color just felt too used to me. So I made him sort of a blood red color. I liked it but it didn't seem to fit him. So then I made him dark purple, again I liked it...I dunno. Then just as a joke I made him yellow with brown instead of white (lulz) and finally settled on the dark blue.

Honestly now that he's that color...I can't imagine him looking any other way.

Tanuki looks roughly the same from my original drawings, mostly just her costume changed. Originally she had much higher boots, wore stockings, and the hole on her costume only showed her boobs, it wasn't the super cool long heart shaped hole. Other than that though she's basically the same. I also think I toyed around with some different hair styles, but in the end I went with my original design.

As of right now, Juichi went through more design changes than anyone (with like...9 lol)

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the story, that really means a lot to me. I think it picks up and comes to a really good finish at the end of Chapter 5 (note chapter 5 is just the end of the arc, not the end of the comic...But as I said I will be going on hiatus after that to work on Persona 4 as well as train myself with the tablet)

I think it's one of the better cliffhangers I've done. Like most of the comics it's not much visually but I think dramatically it's not a terrible cliffhanger.

Sorry the past few comics have seemed a bit weird and lackluster. I've been working mostly on Persona 4TW right now and so I'm really doing the comics only a few days before they go up.

I really wanna finish this arc though, I've already got the ending planned and i'm really proud of it.

I have already planned out the backstory of the 18th, but unfortunately we won't be seeing that for several years.

I have a lot of stories planned, it's just gonna be hard to find time to work on stuff lol

I'm a big fan of todays comic.

We're finally sort of getting into the big ending I had planned for this arc.

So this means no one needs to worry about me getting hit with writers block because I've been planning this for a while now.

Will Juichi's insane ramblings make sense in the end?

I never wanted Juichi to be an insane character in the "purple monkey dishwasher" sense. He's never just...spouting nonsense.

He's clearly insane, but I try not to make him just random and speaking gibberish. Y'know?

Anyway, new comic up today. I'll probably try to draw a couple more over the weekend because of...well...next week.

It's not going to be a happy time, i'll say that now...

First off, I would like to say that I personally enjoyed todays strip. It took me a bit longer to draw than the average strip but I think it was well worth the effort.

Second off, I just finished watching a film called Franklyn...and I LOVED it. Please stop by the Persona 3 FTW board to read more on the subject.

But it's now one of my favorite movies, I highly recommend it.

Awesome comic so far.

The story so far is good. Can't wait to see how Juichi gets defeated... or not. xD

The action scenes still need a little work on the proportions part (if that matters), but the overall fighting is pretty good and understandable.

All of the characters are loved even Juichi.

And yay on the tablet. Are you still going to draw the characters the same way you did on ms paint? or will the drawing style change?

Once I start drawing with the tablet it'll be a weird combination of better and worse lol

Characters will have things like noses and ears, overall they'll be a bit more detailed.

But since I'm much more used to drawing with MS Paint at this stage than I am with the tablet, it's possible that it'll end up looking worse for a while.

Right now I'm planning on having the comic go on hiatus so I can practice with the tablet at the end of this current arc.

But if enough people request it, I may end up doing Chapter 6 and maybe even 7 in MS Paint style still.

I'd love to see more of the series, but I'd also love to see the art improve (not that I think the ms paint style is bad, by any means, I love the look, but I'm a firm believer that a comic's art should improve over time) I want to see it keep going, but I also understand the need for the hiatus.

Yeah, it's just tough right now.

I mean if I were at that wonderful stage where I was getting paid for the comics, then I would stay professional and keep things updated.

But with P3F, P4TW and the fact that I'm starting school again soon...Sorry everyone, Raidou will be on hiatus (maybe I can do like one comic every 2 weeks or something, still update)

But yeah, school is gonna be the tricky one to get around, so I'm trying to get as much as I can done while I'm on summer break.
