My second comic book series, unlike the limited series/parody comic that is Persona 3 FTW, RKt19th is an ongoing series that I hope to continue and constantly improve upon.

Right now it's a mediocre ms paint comic because I don't have a tablet yet, but hopefully the series will evolve.

I'm all for criticism so long as it isn't just constantly bashing my art. If you have comments about the odd look of Paint and the lack of backgrounds and stuff...I'll probably just agree with you.

But yeah, made a thread for this one so we can now discuss it here instead of on the P3FTW board.

If there's Victor, does that mean there's demon fusion, or just sword crafting? It would be sort of weird if Johei fused two demons. Somehow, it seems a lot less impersonal when you fuse demons in the game.

Agreed, in the games it's no big deal because there are only so many demon personalities and you usually just wanna work hard and get the next strongest demon.

But in the comic we grow and experience things with these characters. I doubt there will be any fusion though, I like my characters.

Not to mention that it would just be awkward to fuse a male demon and a female demon in the comic.

I like the demons too, their personalities go well together.

I decided to save my post here for...well...when the comic actually updated, which it has. I actually like todays comic, I think it's one of my best (drawing and page set-up wise)

I'm happy to see people are enjoying this series, I take it as an even greater compliment that some people think the story is from an actual MegaTen game.

I've already planned out a large cast of characters from other summoners, to villains, to demon partners, to...pretty much everything you could possibly imagine, I've already got planned out in this little world of mine.

It's 2010 now, big year. Lets see how much the series can grow by this time next year.

Now to get started on Chapter 4, one or two comics while they're fresh in my mind, then it's back to work finishing up P3FTW

Visually I think it's the worst comic I've ever drawn, nothing really exciting or interesting about it

But it was a point that I needed to get across for the story, so maybe it balances itself out

Looking forward to Pixie being in the comic eventually. She's awesome (especially after Nocturne). One of my favorite demons.

Speaking of which, is Johei going to get anymore demons, or is pretty much going to be Baku and Tanuki?

Baku and Tanuki are really the only demons Johei tames (though he technically never tamed Tanuki) But there will be other main character demons.

They'll show up over time, I'm trying not to just introduce one every single chapter. I wanna spread them out some

Because Johei never officially tamed Tanuki, will that create conflicts later on in the story?

I don't wanna give away any spoilers, but YES, that will be an important note in an eventual story.

New Comic out today

sorry for the slight delay but I fell asleep around 8:15 last night and when I woke up I had to rush out the door and go to work.

But it's still friday so I stand by the fact that this comic is not LATE.

Anyway, I got a lot of The Answer comics done the past few days, I'm gonna draw some more Raidou tonight. I promise.

I keep trying to draw more but I'm focusing on The Answer for P3

Good news, I actually got two comics done at work today. They both turned out pretty good

I think I have officially drawn Johei in the badass manner I have ever drawn him before. It's pretty cool looking.

So is there a chance that the bartender in today's comic could see floating bottles? Or is there a way Tanuki can make those invisible too?

Y'know, I know as the writer I should be aware of such things and offer a perfectly reasonable explanation for that but...the way I see it...

Try not to think about it too much.

Like remember when Baku first showed up? He was sitting on a dessert cart holding a bowl of ice cream up to his face. Yes, the waiter in the comic looked VERY uninterested, but even he would notice if there was a floating bowl with ice cream slowly vanishing from it.

Also Baku had a lot of the ice cream on his face. Could that be seen?

I don't wanna say that whatever the demons touch suddenly becomes invisible, because that'll ruin a few things I have planned for later.

But at the same time it's just kind of...I guess people just don't notice it.

Also, wanna give a heads up.

I probably will not have any more updates in this comic until Persona 3 FTW is done. I'm so busy trying to finish The Answer that I haven't had time to draw Raidou comics.

Yeah, I figured it was just nobody notices, I know I don't just look around searching for floating inanimate objects.

I can't really think of any questions to ask that won't possibly give away any spoilers, like: Will Juichi end up being an arch rival of Johei? Like they fight, then Juichi gets away saying something like "Curse you Summoner! You have foiled my plans again!"

I will say though that I have the entire Juichi arc planned and it is going to be legenDARY.

Only 3 people on earth right now know what is going to happen...and I think one of them actually forgot what it was.

What made you want to parody Raidou Kuzunoha?

Well to be honest unlike the Persona comics, I don't really see this one as a parody.

Combined together the two Raidou games are my favorite MegaTen game (Soulless Army had great characters, great story. Most of what sucked about it was in game mechanics. King Abaddon fixed all the mechanical problems, but the story kinda sucked)

Honestly, I just wanted to know more about the other Raidous. One of the things that honestly intrigued me was in the game over screens when you see the ghosts of the first 13 Raidous, if you look closely you'll notice a few of them are girls.

I wanted to know what other kinds of people were Raidou material. Then I started thinking about how it would work in more modern times.

The admittedly I delved into humor, because thats mostly where I shine. I started thinking what if you mixed the serious dangerous world of a devil summoner with sitcom style antics.

Like often in sitcoms you'll see a story where the guy is on a date with a hot girl, but oh no, his ex-girlfriend shows up. I wanted to see if that could work with demons.

My original idea actually had nothing to do with Raidou Kuzunoha, it was just going to be a comic about a devil summoner and have similar megaten overtones (and occasional demon cameos of course) in fact my first idea was a middle aged woman living in California. The series wouldn't have had Gouto and probably would have had different demons.

To me with Raidou my goal is to provide a well balanced comic of humor, story and action. As well as eventually improve the comic.

The Persona series may have expirations dates on them, but Raidou is one I hope to keep working on for many years to come.
