Have you ever started a comic and not being able to work on it in ages? A comic that just barely got started, with all the beautiful detail, effort, and though you put into it. The perfect name suits it, the characters all having their own unique personality, the plot was building in your head and you could see clear events happening. You just haven't had the time to work on. So, after several months you finally decid to delet it. :(

I just deleted my horror comic "Lights Out" It was barely 6 pages in and hadn't been updated since August of 2006.

But not being able to work on it isn't the only reason I had to delete it. No. Some Manga was just recently released into B@N called "Lights Out." :( Talk about total title rip off. T_T

Anyways, my horror comic was just deleted because I felt it wasn't worth the time to struggle with.

Anyone else had to do that? Tell me your sob story.

Hah, I beat you to it for not updating one of my comics old for more than 2 years. I still left my comic undeleted on another site.

If it's too painful for you to delete it, you don't have to force yourself to delete it because the comic was not up to your expectation. Some people delete their comics in order to start anew, either making way for another comic or moving their comics to another site. Some just delete it because they no longer have interests in making comics or they have difficulty handling flames from other users who are against their comics. But most people just created an account and left their accounts untouched for ages. They never even bother to update a single page at all. In this case, these empty accounts should be considered for deletion. There are many reasons people delete their comics. Most people wouldn't want to delete their comics that they put so much effort and labor of love into it.

As for the title rip-off, it's called coincidence. And it always occurs to many webcomics with generic titles. You could always modify your comic title just in case if you happen to find another comic with the same title as yours. ;)

I've killed a couple of comics mostly because i put them up in the "beginning days" of the internet and the scans were terrible and the html code for the pages had no css style to it, etc. now its just matter of rescanning and redesigning pages. when i have the time.
As for the rip off title- happens to us all- that's why desolation angel became desolation angel tango. when i first started out with my comic, i had forgotten that there was 1. a magic card called desolation angel and there was an old comic about character of said card(and no- its nothing like my story- pretty much its a generic d&d comic)..3. there's a book by the granddaddy of the beat generation-jack kerouac. 4..it's the name of music fan site of a band..so i tacked tango at the end of my desolation angel - its an improvement in my eyes. tango gives it kindof that nonsensical feel that some manga titles have. it just works better in my head for what i have planned. so i'm rather happy i needed it to change it a bit.

this is my first comic ^^ and the only way I'd ever stop working on it is if I finished it... or died.
THAT'S HOW STRONG MY RESOLVE IS!!!!!!!! *pant* r..really. even though the first 124 pages are horrificous. (I made that word up!) I'm just gonna... keep going... forever...
It's kind of depressing if you think how many hours, how much of your life you waste by drawing a comic. Each frame takes pretty long.. and if you have a complicated story like me, one that's destined to be really, really long, well...
it's kind of scary. I've been doing it for less than a year, but still, a year from now will I still be doing it??
I know if I quit my comic it will make all the hours I spent working on it a waste, which is why I feel like I'm past the point of no return.

Luckily I'm very hesident on starting new comics for that very reason. The only way I'd delete a comic would be if I no longer desired it on the hosted site. (Like deleting TPCTH on hypercomix recently. Don't want too many mirror sites basically.)

It will really be a bum if I get to a complete writer's block and can't continue the story. I think I'd keep the dead comic online just so people can read it.

Most old comics that have been deleted of mine, were deleted because the sites they were on got killed. Examples being the very old version of 'Anglomanga' and an RPG spoof comic called 'Stereo'ed'. I don't really miss these, they were my first foray into the world of webcomics, and were badly planned and not original or funny enough. The more recent 'Anglomanga', a collection of gag pencil sketch strips, were deleted when hyper went down, and I haven't bothered to put them back up, since I don't have time to make more right now. Still, If I had time to draw them looking just a littler tighter and more professional, I'd consider bringing back Anglomanga. Especially because 'anglomanga' is a name I want to be mine and nobody else's, a kind of 'signiture name' since I coined it as a term for English made manga.
