Well... I'll try to take this from the vantage point of a sprite comic author...

The comic is based heavily on fight scenes, which makes for a pretty exciting comic. The fights seem to remind me a lot of Dragon Ball Z....you know....beams flying everywhere, trash talking, people not moving.... but one thing that I do have a problem with are some of the beams being squared off at the tips. You could at least try to sprite a better version of those beams, no? =\

Other than that, I usually have no problem with the fight scenes. You seem to put them together well and in a way that makes people watch it until it ends. Quite a few of the sprites are original, which also adds points to the board.

Anyway... I usually read a comic, not for the artwork or spriting, but the story (but the artwork or spriting tends to be a plus, no? ) and the story has somewhat kept me reading the comic everyday.... even though I'm always impatient for a new update.... (I update every day... so that kind of made me develop a BIG impatience for updates XD) I really like the comic.

Anyway I say 8.5/10 for Tony The Hedgehog o.o
99% of people would've finished this sente

Ah yes, Tony the Hedgehog...

I really don't have much to say. I've been helping him out from time to time for quite a while now. I'll just break it down into what I find good and bad.

Pros:
Decent personalities for your characters.
Shadow not entirely a badass and occaisonally romantic? Sonic not a hopeless retard? Gemel slowly learning the "Warrior's Way?" Your character developments, however slow some may be, may your comic infinitely more interesting. Keep them up.

NOT always pure fighting.
This kinda goes with the point above. Since it's not just fighting for the sake of fighting. You have crimes to stop, and people to protect. I admit, I find most "tournaments" that spriters hold to be incredibly boring. You mix it up and put in a plot during it, just like you are now with this current tournament in your "Getting in the Middle Ground" comic. But since that is not what I am here to review, I shall leave it at that.

Following the bad guys.
Not a lot of people actually bother to do more than show some "foreshadowing" when there's a comic strip just about the villians. I hope to see you follow Eggman and company more often later.

A wonderfully lighthearted atmosphere from time to time.
I have to admit, you haven't gone for any cheap sex innuendos or made anyone a lesbian just for a joke, and for that, you have my deepest respect. I love the comics where it's just your crew or Robotnik's crew just living day to day. When you get time, make some more of them.

Cons:
Large cast.
This could be a pro if you can work it correctly. I don't care what you've told me, you're leaving certain characters damned to be nothing more than background fodder at this rate. What has Rouge done lately? What about Tails and Cream and Amy? They hardly show up, and when they do, they utter maybe one or two lines at best. If you could focus some story time on them as well from time to time, and maybe give them some character developments, that shall be very, very nice.

Stale fighting.
Yes, you've got all sorts of moves and beams and explosions. Congrats. Now if you could pull them off to make it more interesting, that'd be great. Zoom in on people! Make beams more deadly instead of something to just sway away like a fly! Show some battle damage to the characters! This isn't pokemon, when I see someone get blown up by consectutive beam blasts, I want to see something besides "Tony fainted!" Show some burnt fur, damaged clothing, and bruised faces. You've made over 300 strips overall, and while I know most of the time you got sprites and stuff through the help of others, that's no excuse for not practicing your own stuff.

Tony is the supreme one.
Tony's always been the victor for just about everything. I don't much mind that, a comic needs a hero, but damn, have a few story arcs where he doesn't rush in and save the day or for that matter, even show up! You pulled if off once, but that was because it was following Robotnik's crew. I'd like to see more of that, but I'd love to see an arc about some of the characters on your team doing someting without you around. Who knows? Tails could be making some sort of cleaning robot that goes haywire and trashes the house with some super power hose, and him and Cream are the only ones who can shut it off. Or Rouge and Amy go shopping and stop a robbery while they're there. There's lots of possibilities, mate.

Review's a bit longwinded, but hey, I really care about your comic, and you've told me what you think of my comic. Only fair I do the same for you. :-D

The beginning of this comic sports a terrible font coupled with really bad looking speech bubbles. The speech bubbles improve, but you've still got a basically ugly looking font. I recommend www.blambot.com as always.

Anyways, may I just say that I find fight scenes in sprite comics to be incredibly boing/pointless? I mean, there's no abiltiy for interesting camera angles. Since sprites were made for games to be played, the only thing I think works with them are humor or very clever writing (and that's usually 'pixle art' and not ripped sprites, like AMD, which is actually really funny but sometimes has seriousness in it.)

Anyway, I do enjoy one Sonic comic, and that's the comic over at the forest zone. I read it a while ago, but I think the main things about it that was good was the dialogue and kind of clever writing.

So what does this comic have? Clever writing? Um...not really. Decipherable writing? Yes. Good. Author insertion into own comic? Yes. 4th Wall Breaking? Yes. A clever use of 4th Wall Breaking? ...No.

Then you have this weird Dragon Ball Z crap mixed in...

I dunno man. This really isn't entertaining at all and it didn't keep me reading. I don't like sprite comics though. Listen to the other reviewers I guess. But if you want to hear my opinion, I say drop the sonic crap and do something original. I love Sonic games, but this just isn't entertaining.

Why do you People keep saying "OMG teh font is teh suxxorz use blambot instead itz teh roxxorz" Font is not important Tony chooses that font becuase he likes it and "really bad looking speech bubbles" Dude the comic is made in Mspaint the speach bubbles are always low quality.

And Tony's the main character of the comic, not author, there's a difference people.

Sorry if I'm not reviewing, I'm just making a point that's all.

Then perhaps MSPaint shouldn't be used in this situation.

No posts commenting on other people's reviews.

And yes, it makes perfect sense for people to talk about whether font and wordbubbles are bad in a review of a comic, those being an important part of a comic and all.
