Review of the Hero Factor

Art
The drawings are in a exaggerated comical style, usually with good proportion and pose and everything, but sometimes they are a little rough and sketchy, especially at the beginning. The artist is definitely improving as the comic goes on, though. The two main problems are that, first, the frames are sometimes squashed or stretched, as if the aspect ratio isn't right. I'm not sure why that is, since within one page, some panels are normal and some are skewed vertically or horizontally. Second, the characters, the backgrounds, and images in the shot are sometimes drawn and rendered in really different styles, so it ends up looking like a collage rather than one drawing. For example, the characters are in a thick black-outlined comic style, then the backgrounds are a rough painterly style. The difference is a little jarring for me. I would prefer if they stuck to one style throughout. Also, I can't figure out why, but the speech bubbles and text don't "fit" with the rest of the comic. Maybe it's their font, or the lines they are drawn with, but they are also a little jarring for me.

Story / Characters / Writing
I like superheroes and I like contests, so that part is fine with me. But, I didn't read everything because I couldn't connect with the characters too much. There are all kinds of heroes, announcers, and judges, so it's hard to get to know them all. Maybe focusing on fewer character would make it better. They seem to have pretty stereotypical personalities, like straight-talking critical girl, or big doofus guy. I would like to have fewer, more deeply developed characters. As is, it just didn't drawn me in enough to motivate me to keep reading. There were some funny parts though, like when the hero sprayed breath freshener in his pants.

Overall
If they improve the composition of the pictures and focused on a few interesting characters, it would be a lot more enjoyable to me. I do like superheroes and there are some good moments, so it definitely has potential. I definitely recommend sticking to similar line/brush widths and types throughout each picture, rather than mixing huge brushes, tiny lines, and no lines.
