Symbiosis

Young suburban scrapper Zeke Terra's life was never anything worthy to writer a comic strip about. But when his body fuses with an alien suit of armor-that inexplicably holds the mind of the genius Professor L-- his life gets thrown into a gauntlet of alien warriors, evil sociopaths, and all the weird crap they can handle.

@ Herio: You... need spellcheck. I had to read that twice to understand what you were saying. D:

Now to the review!

Story: The vibe I get here is Satirical Shonen/mecha, it's very silly in a good way. I'm also assuming you're a Blue Beetle fan, because DAMN Zeke reminds me of Jamie (he looks a lot like him too on this page ... but I'll get into the art later.) SO, the writing style of Symbiosis is very tongue-in-cheek, like how the main character narrates everything that happening to him. It fits with the setting and all the over the top things that keep happening to him (the alien vomiting when he sees a Human... twice... was hilarious. So was Dia casually falling out the window ) The plot is just getting started, but it seems fittingly silly and entertaining. As long as you keep that up you'll have a solid foundation for a good story.

Art: It reminds me a lot of Viewtiful Joe. I think the super deformed style works for the comic, but it's a slippery slope. Sometimes it looks fine like here but then there are times when it just looks awkward. That page is obviously older and the proportions seem to be becoming more consistent in the more recent updates so that's good! It's mostly small errors in general anatomy and perspective that I'm noticing... For example in the first panel of this page Dia's arms are REALLY long and the room around her is kind of... lop sided. A similar thing happens to Zeke on this page. Just remember that, even in super deformed styles, bodies still stay in proportion. If you've ever unsure about how part of a body is supposed to look, do the pose in the mirror and see how it looks proportionally on you... and just downsize it for your character art.

After the end of their space adventure, the page layout start to become more interesting. I think that a three to four panel update works best for the pacing of this comic... this page works particularly well.

Technical: This is where you need the most improvement. Your lineart is getting better, but everything has the same line width. What are you using to ink? I'd recommend getting some sakura microns (available at any staples or craft store) in a few different sizes and trying them out! I bet the entire look of the comic would be improved 100% if the lines had more variety and were a bit cleaner. : )

I'd also recommend typing the text out. Your handwriting is actually pretty easy to read, but considering this is a webcomic, computer type makes everything flow better.

So, all in all, this is a nice comic you've got here. It needs some improvements in the technical department, but I can see the diamond in the rock here. Keep working on it and you'll do great. : D
