awww.. she's so excited to be reviewed and then it just sits here for a day.. fine, i'll start. this one evolves a lot, so starting with the early strips: the art is familiar as it's pretty heavily manga influenced (the head shape and nose/mouth features mostly), but distinguishes itself enough from that to be origional. Paco has a great character design right from the start. it becomes apparent pretty quickly that the author of this comic doesn't speak english as a first language, which isn't necessarily bad at all, but it color my impression of the whole thing. the little grammatical errors usually come off pretty cute, though i'm sure that's not the intention. they make me hear the characters as having accents and speaking in broken english. again, not a bad thing, but probably not what the creator had in mind. it's an extremely admiradle task to try writing anything for an international audience. culuture differences (classic and popular) are against you. linguistically, not just the wording, but the WAY stories are TOLD varies wildly (that's pretty much my theory as to why anime movies don't make any fucking sense.. umm. sorry..). so, considering all that, i think this comic's writing works really well. while the jokes aren't always hilarious, the're well executed. i was never confused by the punchline. the first one about WacDonalds is, to me, a great example of a really good idea working WITH your language percularities (sorry to harp on the language thing, but it does stand out to me..). the comic itself is funny, and the choice of wording caps if off. a guy refering to himself as a 'hot little number'.. ha. and where did that guy come from? love how he looks and that he's reoccuring. later, someone else takes over the writing and i have to say it doesn't work for me. the stories are better formed and have snappier punchlines, but it's not the same voice. obviously, i mean, it's written by someone else, but i had come to enjoy the tone of the creator and suddenly it was the same characters but completely removed from how i knew them.. also, since i'm guessing the main character is, or is at least based on, the creator; your words suit it better. a critique artwise is easy: keep it up. the strips get better as they go. expressions, anatomy, color.. all of it. i appreciate the experimenting with photo backgrounds and different strip layouts. could tell you were trying out different visuals, but did the consistently enough with your style that they were never jarring. like, 'this strip looks totally weird and different from the others.' never happens. they flow. overally i have to say i think this comic is really... 'nice' as in, there's nothing that i really dislike about it, but it's not my new favorite or anything. i am interested to see how it continues to develop.

Art: The artwork is pretty good and it does get significantly better as the comic progresses. Paco is well drawn, and so is Pilli. You make great use of backgrounds, facial expressions, body motions, etc. So keep that up because the art is definately strong.
Story: Not much of a 'story' so to speak, but it does have a backstory to how the characters came to be. Paco's backstory is bizarre, yet interesting enough to make his character hold more attention. The ideas and jokes in general are pretty easy to grasp. I don't usually laugh out loud at anything except movies in the theatre, but I definately found some of your comics rather funny. I think Paco is a well drawn little character, and some of the connections you make with Pilli, Video Games, and Nerds, is just great. There's definately a lot of interesting ideas and you don't seem to be running out of new ones.
Writing: This is your hugest flaw, and the one thing that really detracts from the overall beauty of the comic. I realize that English is not your first language, and I can give you a break on that, but the writing needs so much work. Punctuation and grammar are the two hugest problems. A lot of the time you leave out a period or a comma or some sort of punctuation to make the sentence flow normally. Try to think about what your characters are going to say and how they will say it and use punctuation to convey that. A comma makes a slight pause in the speech, a period is a longer pause since it is the end of the sentence. "..."'s (I forget what the literary term for that is...) give a dramatic pause. Use those to your advantage because it can do a whole lot to your dialogue.
Grammar does get better as you said you got a new translator, though overall it still needs work. I would take some time and go back through all your older comics and update the dialogue. Some of the older stuff is hard to read because of the grammar issues.
Your use of speech bubbles gets a lot better in later issues as well, while earlier on they are somewhat disorganized with the words not fitting properly either taking up too much space or leaving big blank spaces.
Overall: Once you get your grammar under control with this (and it will take time because English is not easy to learn fluently, and honestly most Americans don't speak the language fluently anyway) this comic will really really shine. The characters are memorable, interesting, and the jokes, while sometimes more oriented towards your culture, are easy to grasp. It's very interesting how you weave in all the aztec stuff and other such aspects. Keep it up.

Since it doesn't seem like you're fluent in English, I forgive all the little problems the comic's dialogue has. You've improved tremendously throughout the comic. The main way is the presentation though. The coloring on this page was downright horrible, but your coloring on this page looks great! Simple yet clean and stylish. Keep up this style. Maybe a few shadows wouldn't hurt...
Anyway the storyline is kinda random and the characters aren't very deep. There's a characature of what I'm guessing is you. Obviously it always seems like you know what you're doing. This kinda ego boosting is common in comics, however it can make the other characters seem flat. One character is based on a real human being (plus a few charisma) and the other characters are all kind of buffer characters. If you haven't already, try putting some of your friend's personalities into those characters.
The skull guy is comic relief, but other than that he seems kinda flat. The dialogue is the main reason the story comes off as so simple. However as you get better at english you'll be able to make the dialogue sound more natural.
So in conclusion, good improvement but you need to make the characters a little more believable or deep. Also the main character comes off as a tad pretentious.

Okay, here goes my review for Pilli Adventures.
ART - At the begiining of the comic. The artwork was a little flat and not very good. But in the more recent comics. The artwork has become much improved. In fact, it's pretty damn good now.
STORY - It's kind of like a gag-a-day comic and its pretty random, so there really isn't a continuous storyline. There are some pretty funny moments in the comic. The Spring Break storyarc was the best. There are some mistakes in the dialogue. But, as was mentioned by the other reviewers here, English isn't your first language. So I'll look past that. Plus, the dialogue has become better lately.
CHARACTERS - Pilli and Paco are pretty well done. Outside of the two main characters, however, there isn't much.
OVERALL RATING - The comic is good. It really starts to improve about midway through the archives. I give Pilli 3 Twisted Evils.

Pretty good strip comic. Alot of nice situwation humor to the holidays and times of the year. Paco's really funny and well drawn. He reminds me of Bender from Futurama.
I understand this isn't much of a story comic ,but it might be fun to have a little story ark. like Paco hates working for Pilli. Would he want to be some place else? And what was Paco and Pilli's life like when Paco was alive and dating Pilli.
art and writing: very ditto to the rest of the comments. Work on that English grammer and you'll be fine.

Really amusing. I love the humor in some of the strips and may i just say...i love paco.
Use PNG's for your uploading. Then you won't get that off bubbly effect if you look close at it.
Ya know you're comics in real good shape. I like the random humor of it. Great job.

I don't know where to start, so I'll just use the layout everyone else seems to be using. Having been a fan of this comic for a long time, I'm more than happy to write a review.
Art: Not my favorite part of the comic, as others have said, but I have to admit its good. You see evolution in it--black-and-white sketches in the early days, and now you have full color with computer-generated backgrounds. This approach adds another demention to the comic (litterally and figuritively). Sure, it's nothing flashy--but what on DD is? It makes the comic entertaining to look at, and that's what counts.
Story: You appearently don't feel the need to add much of an overall plot--it's mainly just a lot of story arcs snapped together by use of the same characters. I like that--I don't get a lot of time to check for updates, and it makes it easy to catch up on your comic.
Writing: I know a lot of people have critism in this area due to your lack of fluent English skills, but I think that if you just get your grammar and spelling up to snuff you'd make an excellent writer. A lot of your lines, though poorly constructed, are loaded with wit and humor, and improving your language skills would only make that shine through more. Depite, as I mentioned, the frequent grammar and spelling mistakes, PiLLI is still fun to read. I'd recommend getting an editor to tailor your English for you while you learn--and yes, I'm volenteering. I'd be more than willing to edit for you until your English improves. It'll be worth the effort.
Overall: Fun, witty, funny, and adventurous, as well as taking good use of several classic myths and legends, makes for a very entertaining comic. 9/10. A bit of advice on that Pilli film, though...try it in 2D. CGI Paco looks just plain creepy.

Dumb Guy 1: Okay, who wants to play jump off the fifth foot balcony into the swimming pool?
Dumb Guy 2: Oh! Oh! I do! jumps off the balcony
SPLAT!
Dumb Guy 3: This would work SO much better with a swimming pool.

First off... ALGEYA IS A GIRL?!!! (based on the comic's constant use of fanservice i wouldn't have guessed that, points for you algeya for breaking the modern woman stereotype!)
Pilli Adventure holds a special place in my heart, it was the seconed comic i ever read on this website (the first being Crossoverlord) I was drawn to it by its cheerful artwork and near "Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" style humor. While this comic started out as a "strip of the week comic" it has began to stick to a more straight forward storyline. I love how the characters have unlikable traits yet you can't help but love the heck out of them. thats all i have to say about Pilli Adventure.

Check out Kannon the Koala when the get the chance. My art ain't all that impressive but i think the story will carry it along just fine.

PILLI ADVENTURE is a fun comic with a fresh feeling.
Going from the first comic to the latest, the artist has improved an incredible amount. One of the first things I noticed is the great talent for the layouts of the comic. They are simple, creative and easy to read. The use of colour is great, it's not over bearing but still very bright.
First impression was that the comic is really hard to follow, it feels completely random without reason, but if you scroll the archives the comic is set in series, so you don't have to start from comic one to follow the story.
If you like wacky adventures, random encounters and manga attitude, then you are really going to like this comic.

what can be said about pilli adventure that hasn't already been said?
let's start with the bad:
-due to it being a Mexican-made-and-then-translated web comic strip, there are some grammatical hiccups
-the pacing gets a little off at times, often speeding through events of the story to the point where you don't really know what just happened
....yeah... that's all...
now the good:
this comic has since evolved from it's first days on the inter webs from a nice goofy little gag-a-day comic strip about a cute but creepy goth girl and her boyfriend inexplicably animating a calavera skull doll. the art and stories weren't anything to write home about and the jokes were decent-to-laugh inducing. where is it now, several years and south of 800 pages later?
the best way to describe it SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON MEETS SHONEN FIGHT MANGA! i can't be the only one who thought this as he saw paco beat colorful monster of the week and comedically over the top villains week after week, can i? the characters are all diverse and original, leaving an impression even if they're just killed about a week later, and the main cast have all since evolved and become more human, something that rarely happens with comic strip characters.
the art is lush, colorful and pops off the page......... in later strips. in all honesty, earlier strips(way back in the double digits) had art that was not that impressive; i'll eve go out and call it "bad but not terrible". this is remedied in later strips TREMENDOUSLY, as the colorful satAM cartoon from HELL look really captures the mood and fun nature of the strip quite nicely.
bottom line: despite it's minuscule flaws Pilli, Adventure is a fresh and fun comic strip with characters you can't help but love. i highly recommend it to ANYONE WHO CAN READ AND OWNS A COMPUTER

Okay. first let me say that witnessing the evolution of this strip was not only enjoyable but inspiring.
now lets get to the review. I pretty much decided that i am going to base this review on where the comic is at now, not what it was.
Art/
4/5
maybe it's because of the progression that I appreciate it more but i really dig the style. I know there is better art out there but where it's at now fits the characters perfectly in my opinion. Also I wondered how far i was going to get before I had to mention that I freakin Love Paco.
writing
3/5
i would have scored it higher if i felt there was a solid storyline..it was very hard to understand at first and hard to follow. Once you got into a groove though it got better. Yes I understand that it's written in Spanish and translated, but i think that really works well with Paco's Dialogue.
overall.
3.5/5
I really enjoyed witnessing the progression of the book and Paco is a bad ass. i added this as a favorite so i can keep up with it in the future, now that it looks like the storytelling is getting on track.
