You guys are moving too fast and the reviews are a little on the short side. Let's see some more in-depth stuff, okay?

Yea, c'mon people! This is one of the only places that us little known comics get reviewed, so at least try to write a half-a page review, not just one of the two liners. :/

Anyway, because this comic only has 8 pages I'm going to fill space by telling you a story. I've known T_K (or T. Underscore K. as Ian Jay calls him, or Talking Ketchup as he calls himself) for a while now. We've talking about various things, given each other tips, y'know that kind of stuff. I've heard a lot of 'lols' from him through the Instant Messaging program (which delivers messages instantly!...most of the time). And I visit his country (Norway) every year. Although I've never actually met him. But in this new decade of the interweb I don't need to. Because we can talk. Through it!

Alright, now that wall of text makes this review look a whole lot longer, and makes me look like a good example-setter. Now on to the comic.

The first page of Master of Theft (the first comic page, not the title page, although it could count) is a joy to look at. We get some funny lines at the bottom. And the coloring is stupendous! Oh how I wish this whole comic was full color...

Sometimes TK's bold lines along side all those action lines make it hard to figure out what's happening. This is my third time reading this comic, and sometimes it's okay not to know exactly what's happening as long as it looks like action is occuring, so I basically understood what was going on. But new readers might be a bit turned off by it. Then again, maybe I'm just slow. I know TK has talked about putting down flat colors just to help the audience with this kind of stuff, but I'm not sure how that would work out. And the fact that he has a very distict style which is not necessarily perfectly clear to new readers adds to some of the not-knowing-exactly what's going on.

But overall this comic is really cool. The art is bursting with energy. I just wished there was MORE to review. 8 pages ain't much.

Indeed, 8 pages is hard to pull an in-depth review from...

The action is really well done in terms of lines and movement and what-not. I did have a little trouble figuring out what exactly was going on, but I don't have a problem ignoring that and trying to figure it out later, when we know the setting a little better.

T_K's art style in general is really clean and I like the more cartoony aspects of it, especially the expressions the characters can make.

The balance between text and pictures to tell the story is perfect. There isn't much text at this point, but there doesn't need to be, because there's so much going on, and it keeps you reading.

Sometimes the scans could be cleaned up a bit more, but we all know how that can be time consuming. I personally prefer the colored pages, just because they make it easier to read/look at, as is the case with most comics, plus the coloring style is quite nice.

Hey! I actually made it look like I had a decent amount to say! Hurrah!

ARTWORK - Mostly its pretty good though in your smaller panels I usually can't tell what I'm looking at or what's going on. And that can be a big problem when trying to get people to keep coming back. Right?

WRITING - Okay, writing is my thing. Its what, in my humble opinion, makes or breaks a comic... So, having said that, I think you're pretty much border-line here. The biggest problem that I see is that there is not enough writing. The only back-story is on the front page and there's hardly any of that. I don't read comic books anymore but back in day there was plenty of narration. And narration is good. Why? Because the comic is a very limited medium. The pictures are static (despite how good your speed-lines are), there's no audio and the text, by necessity, is limited. But limited does not have to mean non-existent. It just means you have very little physical space to work so you have to make every word count. There seems to be some trend (especially in webcomics/just for fun comics) that says good artwork is enough and no one needs to write a story or use punctuation or proper spelling, etc. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Now, I'm not accusing you of doing this in your comic, because after all, it is just 8 pages and way too early to say, but my gut feeling is that you'd rather draw than write.

There's one thing I can guarantee about comics: a well-written comic with bad art will have many, many more fans than a poorly-written comic with good art. Guaranteed.

So keep making your comic and keep perfecting your artwork. But try telling more of a story. Your *readers* will appreciate it.

and now that I read the whole rewiew rather than just skimm through, I'm more into drawing yes, but I do find writing a story now and then fun. And trust me theres alot of story backing this comic up that will come eventually I've planned this comic for 2 years or so, and I am also sorry that you guys had to rewiew it so early. I'll throw it up for a new rewiew when I'm further in the story.

the current thing is just that he's running away from jail, he has a reason to be there and a reason to run away, wich you will all see in the future.

but yeah thanks for your rewiew man. Much appriciated.

Okay. This is my first time doing the review. So here it goes.

ARTWORK: I loved it. Especially the colored pages. It's a shame that he didn't keep it as a completely colored comic. But that's just me, I have a soft spot for colored comics. The black and white pages are great too. Love the facial expressions of the characters. The best artwork was on Chapter 1- Page 2 and chapter 1- page 6. The worst was the Valentine Day filler.

CHARACTERS: Its pretty early in the comic, so there are only a few. But the few that have been shown so far are pretty good. Looks like the beginning of a beautiful rivalry between Leon and Ember.

STORY: Again. Its very early in the comic. There's only 8 pages to work with here. But what there is so far, I like. Some of the dialogue bubbles seem out of place on page 1- panel 3. But outside of that, not bad.

ACTION: Plenty thus far. The artist has a knack for drawing intense scenes IMO. Can't wait to see more.

RATING: Out of a possible 5 Twisted Evil Emoticons, I give Master of Theft

Karen's Edge [..]- The beginning of the wildest road trip ever!!
How Unfortunate [..]- Coming back in mid-July!

ok first time reviewing a comic so here goes....

ART: TKs art in this is very good, but in some places it is hard to tell whats going on. he needs to pull the camera back alittle more in the action sequences, just so people have a better sence of whats going on.

Writing: Ok TKs writing isnt the best, he might need alittle more in places but other then that its pretty decent. though i might not be the best judge on writing.

Characters: As for the characters its still to soon to judge but i think he should set up characters personalities alittle more, the characters are kinda being overshadowed by the action in my opinion.

Overall: well if i had to give this comic a grade judging on the pages that are up i would have to give it a 3 so far. But if i know TK he will not disapoint and bring this comic up to higher standard!!!
