Huh. A comic about Death. Been awhile since I've seen this guy outside of Family Guy and the New Yorker cartoons.
Anyway, let's see...
Art- Not great, but it works for what your trying to do here. You do use dramatic camera angles at certain points in the story, which is a nice touch. And there are backgrounds. More useful to the presentation is the fact that your lettering goes from sloppy handwriting to a good comic font. FINALLY someone who understands how much nice looking lettering means to a comic...
So the art works.
Writing- I think the best strips are the ones where you don't use any words, like this one However at other times the writing and jokes are a bit too slapstick or corney. The concept of the Grim Reaper has been done to death (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....oh, I crack myself up....) and so if you want to gain more popularity try doing something a bit more original with it. I don't know what that'd be though, so I guess I'm not much help...
Overall I find this comic entertaining. Not amazing or great, but entertaining. So...that's a good thing.

I am a big fan of Life and Death, it is a comic with the amazing ability to sheer one up after a hard and long day in all it's simplicity. The art isn't as amazing, but it fits the slapstick-style of the humour. The only problem is that the humans looks a little bit to similar. The writing, story and jokes are, as mentioned, simple and not to complicated. Just perfect for a daily newspaper. The standard is very high too, with a very high "worst-level", which is a great plus in these kinds of comics.

I agree with Jakob. The simple humor is very funny in my opinion. I love how cynical death is (...should there be a duh in there somewhere?) and compared to my own comic, i rather like then newspapery feel of your drawing. Good job. Very solid comic.

Um, okay, let's see...
I like this comic a lot. It's very funny. The art isn't mind-blowing, but it doesn't need to be. The author/artist can convey convey expression very well, even on a guy whose face is cover by a hood. That's telling you a lot.

I got to agree that most of the humor is of the slapstick type... but I like that kind of humor, and I think most of the punchlinies are achieved most pretty well, many times even hilarious! :P
And regarding Steve (Death), well, I can only wholehearthy say that he is one of the most well-engineered Reapers this side of Terry Pratchetts, and carry out his job like it was a normal 8-15 job with all its hazards and problems, but when you are through its off to the bar!
Unfortunately Death seems to have taken over most of the spotlight, I would like to see more to his counterpart Life and the other Personifications, perhaps a few returning Humans to harass Steve's office?
The art is pretty standard, with little more than whats necessary to achieve the wanted effect, but that fits pretty well with the comics style.
Overall a very very good strip... top 5! :-D

Story/ Saga: Just brilliant, the concept of the life of death is kinda being burned out but this comic has brought an incredible amount of life to it. I have yet to find a L&D comic that i couldn't find something to laugh at. I'm laughing at the fillers, and i normally don't even bother with the fillers.
Style: The style of the characters is definitely one that doesn't get the respect it deserves. Its not beautiful, but it gives the comic an extra punch, making the comic all the more funny.
Coloring: Probably the only thing i see wrong with this comic. The coloring fills in the spots but it just doesn't seem finished. The characters to me look flat as the walls, if you could find a way to get the characters to stand out more i think you'd have a perfect comic.
All in All: This comic is just full of originality and was one of my first favorites on DD and i hope it stays that way. 9/10

I won't complain. I like it, but originally the comic was mainly strips which were fun to read but now it's developed more of a story. Characters are become familar and soon become well loved (even God). I highly suggest it, it makes a good beer-chugging read.

Joff is a really consistent artist, but it's his dialogue that I like. He uses American office politics as his backdrop, and frequently tosses in skeleton jokes. Steve is full of conflicts: he's death (so he has a job to do) but he's deeply insecure, prone to bluster and bravado and is a fairly solid alcoholic. God is your typical mean boss and always is figuring out how to make Steve's life miserable. There is a lot going on here, and Joff touches a lot of readers (hence his enduring popularity).
Art is, I think, only average, but hell... my favorite strips are all about the writing and characters. This is a good strip and I check it every time it updates. It's getting better, too.

I think L&D has Fairly Good Art.
Could be better, But the proportions could be better.
I really like Death.*sounded Emo*
The writing can be very funny sometimes. Even my Dad laughs at it when I show it to him.
Anyway, I believe it's getting better and better.
I makes for a good comic overall, and that's why it's so popular.
