it's manga/anime themed, but it's in color and the plus side is that it doesn't read like a japanese comic-- right to left.

instead it reads more like a regular english comic...

and the plot isn't clitched at all. basically you got cops, and then those mutant-like type of people... (I suck at explaniing and descriptions sometimes).

so far it's still getting off the ground in terms of character delvopment, but the story is coming along nicely.

I hope to see more of this coming soon. :)
I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done! :)

Hey, I really liked that. The style is pretty well developed and consistent, no major problems. Sometimes the lines are a little too thin and the shadowing could be a bit more clearcut, as it tends to look thin and hasty. But overall nice. I like.

The story is good, too. I like how the storylines intertwine, very smooth and understandable without being predictable. The dialogue runs pretty smooth too, nice pacing and whatnot. You seem prone to some slack grammar, but nothing that interferes.

And I like the humor. Some of the pages actually made me laugh out loud, in a stupid kind of way. I like how the story manages to be pretty intense and badass while maintaining elements of slapstick sarcasm and mockery. I think my favorite part was that there are agents named Scrotum and Analitch. Oh man, Analitch. That kills me for some bizarre reason.

Anyway, I added it to my favorites. I want to see where this goes :D

This isn't your average comic. The plotlines here are so zany, and the characters are just so insane...but here's my review.

First off, Presentation- This is where my major beefs are with this comic. You got a fairly good grasp of anatomy, and you can draw buildings and rooms well enough, but the linework is a little messy and looks pixleated. Also, font. Get a real comic font already. The current Comic Sans MS looks pretty bad. Also, speech bubbles. I don't like this clear white thing you have here. It's looks amaturish. If you have photoshop, use Layer>Layer Styles>Stroke to put a border around speech bubbles. Finally, the colors could use a little bit of work on uping the shadows and lights and all that, but still it's good to SEE coloring.

Second, Story- I like it. It's really out there. The little anime moments detract from it slightly, but overall it's quite funny. However I must say the bits of adult humor in there are a bit much. And the naming of the two agents. It's stuff like that which just seem out of place in a comic like this, which I would imagine could cater to a bigger audience if you didn't use the adult humor so much. Also the personalities of the characters seem a little flat. Even including humor, you could probably draw in more readers by fleshing out the characters a bit.

Art- Pretty solid. The linework isn't all that visually interesting, but it gets the job done. I can't really complain much about perspective or human anatomy. It's simple but good. Still, speech bubbles, as I mentioned, could use work. And coloring needs to be made more interesting. It's kinda flat so far. It works, it's just not great.

Overall, this comic is on my favorites list. It's consistantly funny and out there with art that works. However there are pleanty of ways that it can get better, by amping up the presentation.

Well, well, well, another day, another comic to review! We should really make this weekly thing...doing reviews in quick succession like this is
very hard...oh well! Onwards we trudge!

I have been a bit of a long time reader of this comic. So I guess I feel sort of honored to review it...however...it doesn't mean that'll be treated any different from any other one I've reviewed! Just to get that straight!
At the beginning of the comic, some of the linework is slightly messy. It has a MS paint feeling about yet. However the story and colouring do bring up the points a little. Throughout the comic, you can diffinately see an improvement to the quality of the pages which is good to see. There is always a background in the panels which can often be a welcoming sight as good backgrounds are hard to come by in some cases.
The text itself....(now I'm just being picky I know but still!) sometimes can be a bit long and aurdous to read, and sometimes doesn't even fit in the bubble! This is becoming less and less though as the comic progresses. Long speech could easily be broken into two or even three bubbles, so as it's not too much at one time. It's just easier on the eyes.
The story itself is not as cliched as we are often lead to believe when the words "cops" "villians" or even...god forbid..."Heroes" is uttered... Somehow, the commonplace cliche` does not occur, rather, is made to be more down to earth and "real" than the average cast of villians and superheroes are meant to be.
the panelling isn't too montonous. The angles are always different, presenting the characters well. Some comics all you see is two character, same postion, same sized shape panels, just different words. This does not occur here. Looks like this guy knows at least what he is doing....

This is where I sign off....
All-in-all....I don't mind it. It's an all round good read that gets better and better every page...

This is Em signing off! :D

I want to thank everyone for the reviews of How Unfortunate. It looks like the reviews have been positive thus far. Which makes me do a happy dance. (Believe me, it looks really pathetic).

As for the problems. I apoligize for the lameness that is Comic Sans MS. I'll stop by blambot and get some better fonts. And I'm going to try what ccs1989 suggested for the speech bubble problem.

Once again, thanks for reviewing my webcomic, (And thank you to any one else who reviews it later on).
