Whoa, i'm suprised that Grog took so long to get reviewed.

Artwork

The artwork in Grog is nicely done, with basically nothing to complain about. The use of cool effects like the Cursed Pirates are breathtaking.

Story/Plot

The story moves along pretty slow to start off with. Even though Grog is a strip comic, it's starting to move along like story. The humor used is funny and well written and executed.

Updates

As far as i can tell, the comic updates in a timely manner.

Overall

A great comic, with memorable characters. Story developing nicely; but slowly. Recommended read.

Arg! I love this comic. XD

Artwork: This style is sooooo cool! XD The characters are soo cute and enjoyable. :) I love the techniques you're using.

Story/plot: It moves slowly but not slow enough to lose interest so it's easy to keep up with. ;) It's well organized and very creative. The jokes are funny and easy to understand.

Updates: Very kept up with. :) Regular updates. Keep at it! XD

Overall: ENJOYABLE! Soo cute! I would suggest it to any pirate lover! Keep at it! :D

What can I say about grog that hasn't already been said?
The art is consistently fanstastic. To me, it even LOOKS animated. Like I'm watching a cartoon unfold in front of me and I love that.

Even before Pixie started doing actual storylines, the writing was great. The jokes quick and to the point and not dragged out. The dialogue between characters doesn't feel forced at all, it flows nicely. The current storyline (and the one before it) are just proof of how good Pixie is at this. She's managed to make characters that people genuinely care about (I must admit a boyish crush on Nikki) and even find yourself rooting for. The like-ability (yes, it's a word) of Grog's creator just adds to the comic's appeal. A genuine, non-pretentious lady who will take the time to chat with you about crazy pudding monsters and ninja seiges even though she has better things to do.

Did I mention Nikki?

Anyways, Grog is absolutely in my top five reads here on Drunkduck...if not the top three. If you don't read this comic, you're mising out (BIGTIME) on what makes the webcomics mediu, so much damned fun!

Plus...there's Nikki.

Again I kick myself on not reading this strip sooner.

Had me from the very first strip:

A boy offering flowers to the ships mast maiden was classic, and somehow I knew it was coming. The "Its the scurvy" line just tops it all off. Boy's been out to sea too long!

The art is excellent! Very clean and easy to follow.

The jokes are well paced and appropriate for the action going on. The characters are funny and interact in an organic fashion. There's nothing forced about it.

Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

Great effort...

This comic here is a joy to read, a real page flipper. I usually pick to review the comics very few people reviewed and has been sitting there for a long time, but i just cant help it on this one.

Writing is hilarious, exactly where my avenue of humor lies. I had to keep myself from laughing out loud a couple of times (specially that parrot chicken and lochness monster joke).

Artwise, panels get recycled, usually it tends to get boring, but here it doesnt, it actually emphasizes the laid back theme of the story.

Characters are just adorable, im biased on the cook and the captain, the cook reminds me of my former professor so its really funny picturing him in the comic, the captain is just clueless, you dont get too much clueless captains these days.

Storywise it goes on pretty slow, with all that extra stuff in between and all but i guess people are in it for the individual pages and not for getting the whole story arc getting over with.

On a side note, i find this comic more on a sensual side of life, so for a guy, that alone is enough to keep me reading.

I don't have anything constructive to add but I wanted to say I've been wanting for ages to feature Grog but I can't 'cos you're always around the top 5. T_T Curse you! (Ah you don't need our help.)

*Blush*

Skool, that is a WONDERFUL thing to say. ^_^ I always wondered whether, were I not on the top 5 so often, I'd be featured, and it's great to know. :D I'm down at 7th, now, but hopefully I can pull back. ;)

Everyone else- Thanks so much for all the reviews. :D Very much appreciated.
