Hmmmm where to start.

Art: It's alright, drawn and coloured then scanned in, it looks kinda messy. Maybe you could get a tablet (my advice for everyone). 7.9/10

Writing: I didn't laught once, and the it's extremely hard to read and I can't tell who's talking and it's all so goddam confusing!!!

Just my shortass reveiw.

Their pages look...unusually oversized for some reason. Having them just a little smaller would help.

It looks like the creator is trying to do something really experimental in the first few pages with that test pattern and timer. I don't exactly know what. It was sort of a clever way to introduce the characters though.

I'm not exactly sure what to think of these comics. These characters just pop in and out of white voids to deliver messages to each other. I didn't laugh very much. And on this page the text is almost impossible to read.

This is kind of a creative comic. It has a lot of stuff in it that makes me go 'If I saw this comic somewhere else I'd know whose it was'. However it's not necessarily enjoyable. I didn't laugh. Many time the changing fonts was hard to read. There aren't any backgrounds. There's a lot of filler-looking stuff. And many times the pages are too big, or panels are too small, or something is off. I didn't really enjoy it.

Wow, this...well. It's just kind of a mess. Each page looks like a regular comic threw up on it. There seems to be very little structure or order to the pages. It takes a while to work out who says what, and in what order.

And it's just really not very funny. I mean, I'm not even sure if it's *supposed* to be funny. I can't find anything in there that resembles a joke.

I guess what I'm trying to get across is that I'm just not sure what I'm meant to be looking at, here. I don't know what the creator is trying put across. It seems like a brainstorm of ideas rather than a finished product.

I'm not to sure about that, looks like the "Artist" is just making a comic because he can't figure out livejournal, and MSpaint is easy to use.
The stories follow no real plot, it's hard to read, and I don't know what anyone is talking about ever.
I chuckled a few times at some H.P. Lovecraft references, but other then that it's not funny.
I'd rather review a sprite comic then this, and I hate sprite comics.

Wait...aren't YOU the creator of this comic? Did you just write a bad review of YOURSELF?!

Normally I would have to say something about that overly mean review, but since it was written by the author of the comic.... um.

Huh.

this comic reminds me of a trip to the art museum where i see some pieces of 'art' that i think must be great because, after all, they're in a museum but, for the life of me, i can't freaking understand. i mean, at times the comic seems to be on the edge of making a brilliant statement about something or another and i go to the next page and i cant read a darn thing because its completely unlegible.

honestly, if you stuck with a storyline or at least a theme (and worked on your mspaint, or whatever, skills), i would probably read more. best of luck.

Well, I really like the name of the comic :P

The lead up to the comic itself was quite nicely done, with the teasers etc - x302 said it well when he mentioned that the comic seems to be on the verge of saying/doing something that will blow everyone out of the water... then it doesn't. Or maybe it does and I just can't get it...

But several of them made me smile a little, and the randomness sometimes comes together to be entertaining - it just needs a bit more care taken to keep the comic legible, IMO.

Comic feels.. kind of pointless...

I think it's more of a graphic design thing than a comic.

I ADORE this comic, often for the same reasons every here seems to find it average.

The crazy layouts, the fact that it really does look like a normal comic thrown up, the fact that each character has a different font, everything about this is inventive, and unlike the other reviewers, I did laugh out loud.
I think more comics should try and spread their wings a little, do something different just becuase the creators are genuinely having fun.

So there.

Just to clear some things up...
1). I use a copy of MSpictureit! 99 for editing my comic.
2). I tend to write and draw as it comes out of my head, I don't edit, ever.
3). I know some are hard to read, and I'll fix them.
4). All of the coloring is done after I scan.
5). This is my first attempt to do a web comic, I have no background what so ever w/ anything internet related besides checking e-mail, and buying junk on-line.
6). How many web comics do you know that are actully funny. Not just making cultural references, not just making crude jokes, but are funny... not many.
7).I'm not a cartoonist, I'm a photographer, and a grapic artist.
8 ). I love "filler art", I've thought of making DSR nothing but filler art based off of my Photographs.

Thank you all for your advice, I'm currently learning what works, and what doesn't w/ DD.
And you have to admit, Phylloxera looks way slicker then DSR...
ROCK ON!

Wait, then why did you post a bad review of your own comic up there?

That's just how I roll c3po1337.
I personally find it funny to give bad reviews to myself, or people I know well (it makes them work harder).
But most of all I did it for my amusement, just like the reason I do my comics... My amusement (except for 1/21/06... that day I got 410 page views... That day was for the fans!).
