This is actually a little complete 40 page story! I'm intrigued.

That was a intersting comic alright.

The art isn't the greatest, but nor is it bad.... in fact its pretty good for it's purposes. it was, as others said in the comments on there, Cute yet spooky. which is why I like it very much.

condisering it isn't the type of style I draw, I have no comments on how one could improve the art.

as for the story... well, I hate to say it, I thought it ended a little bit aprubtly without any actual character devlopment or anything.
yeah, the characters were already well defined and stuff, but I would had liked to learn more about those characters... like what was lousie's family like? that sort of thing.
It was like, after the fight death said to lousie, "take my hand" and that was the end.

It just felt like there was more to come, and the writer and artist just ended it there because he didn't want to do it anymore... at least that's how it felt to me. very dispointing.
I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done! :)

I must admit that this is a comic that I am very fond of. Mostly for its art style.

Its art has a great creppy feel to it without being genuinly horrifying. It similar to the Lenore comic I once read in that the character desgins make a small chill run up my spine at first sight. The simple panel layout and numerous splash pages help to keep the engulfing feel of the world this character finds themself in. The are no backgrounds that I recall seeing but that's good becuase it helps with the otherworldly feel of the comic.

The story however feels a little unfleshed out. All the key elements are their (introductions, climax, conclusion) but they don't feel fully realized. And the ending doesn't feel like an ending to the story as much as an ending to a volume in a much larger story. It leaves me wanting a lot more.

This comic was extremely interesting...

Artwork: The artwork wasn't bad, actually. Even if it didn't have backgrounds, and didn't pay much attention to a light source unless dramatic, it was very unique. But sometimes, I couldn't tell which character was which, especially from those guys that were really long and had black bodies.

Storyline: I would say that the storyline wasn't thought out too well. It was interesting, but it didn't really grab on. The thing that disappointed me the most was the beginning. How did the little girl die? Why did death choose her? There are plenty of little girls that die around the world, and he chose her for no specific reason? None of those questions were answered. Also, the characters didn't have personality. The little girl didn't really talk much. Sure, she was brave, but you didn't know what she was actually like. Same goes for death.

It was interesting, but there could have been more.

This year, school's full of BS!!!

My first review, and will try my best to get straight to the point by not sugar coating anything. I don't mean to sound harsh if I do, its merely constructive criticism, and should only be taken as such.

Art- Good. The character designs are consistant throughout the whole comic, and I believe that the style fits the mood of the comic well. I feel that there could have been more detail put into the backrounds.

Characters- I felt that they were not fleshed out enough, or at all. I got no sense of personality from any of them. No character development either.

Story- Decent. The only real gripe I had about it was that the ending seemed a bit abrupt. Paced well, and easy to read.

Thanks for all the nice reviews, I really didn't think that anyone would see any good points in it.
I see that the story and developement is what most people dislike, and as someone pointed out seemed unfinished. And you are right, I really didn't have any more time with the comic, and as I didn't want to end it unfinished if I was to never continuing it, I ended it as good as I was able to. There may be a sequal, but not in the near future.

And once again, thank you for wasting your time.

Speaking from the perspective of a completely casual reader...it's just...so cool.

The thing that kept running through my head while reading this was how reminiscent the atmosphere was of something that Neil Gaiman would do. In this comic, you managed to set up that quiet, not-quite-safe, slightly dark and disturbing feeling that Gaiman always instilled in me. So, good work on that count.

The story itself is obviously the most interesting part. I think you said somewhere that it's based off Swedish tales of the Grim Reaper...which I know nothing about, so can't really comment there. The pacing you've set, however, is beautiful. Even the one-panel strips were stories within themselves. It does seem slightly unfinised, but hey, you can't really expound too much without losing the atmosphere that you've created.
As for those who said the characters lacked personality...well, the point is founded, but these are the freakin' Angels of Death. They don't need personality! I think they can get by on legends alone.

The art, of course, isn't what differentiates this one, but nonetheless it's very Burton-esque. Can't say much here, aside from it being occasionally disturbing. In such a good way.

So overall, I love the feel and the atmosphere. It really was over too soon.
Spritely - for all your funny needs.
Total Immersion - for all your Pokemon-centric pseudo-romantic story needs.

Something for everyone!

...Not my cup of tea at all. The lettering could use some work and I wasn't a fan of the speech bubble style. A more pro-comic font would have worked better.

Alll in all, it was weird. The characters aren't fleshed out at all (and yes, I know Death wouldn't have flesh, but you know what I mean) and the story was pretty weird. Things just kept popping up.

It was too pretentious I'm afraid. It tried to be something mystical and weird but didn't have a solid enough foundation. I like the art to a point, but it just doesn't support the story enough. You introduce around 5 characters and I don't even know a THING about that main girl character. These are very flat and unbelievable characters.

And the dialogue came off as trying to sound like death would sound, but then all the characters basically spoke that way. And then there was that little fight thing. You could also do with more panels on a page.

Yeah, it has atmosphere, but that's about it. Without substance you can't really support a comic. I didn't like it much.

Ok, here's my first try at a review, so bear with me.

Story: Interesting. I like how the story progressed for the most part, thought the characters were good. I like the part with the girl trying to kill the bee. Even though she was a mini-death of sorts she still came off like a little girl, which I thought was cool. The ending, though, I just got confused and it came to such a sudden halt.

Art: The art was pretty good and there was a unique style to it. Yeah, kinda burton-esque, but still pretty good.

Overall, I liked it alot but the ending kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

I was wery of this comic when i first started it. Grammar was poor, and the story seemed choppy, but as i read on i couldn't help but be drawn into it, i'm INCREDIBLY dispointed in fact that it ended, at the very peak of my interest it kind of ended abruptly. None the less, it was a great comic!

The art remind me of Tim Burton a little, but the artist was able to throw in their own style to curve it enough that it was original. I liked the whole black and white, it definitely gave it the feel it needed.

The story was nothing short of brilliant, but once again the beginning was choppy and full of grammar problems, and the end was too abrupt, leaving too many questions. Like...
Why is the afterlife obsessed about chess?
Why did the Angel of death betray them?
Where the fudge did that guy who wanted to be death come from?

The characters were great very original. Again they had a Tim Burton feel, but just a little. The only problem is that the artist didn't give the character enough time to develop, not really giving any reason for death and louise to bond, and yet they did.

I can not tell you how much i enjoyed this story, but the abruptness of it just kind of kills it.

PhatScurl gives this comic a 6/10
