It's soon the time where there's usually talks about the DD awards. So is there anyone/people assigned to take care of it this year or if a team's gotta get build up if we want one this year? With the everything's that happened to the site on the last year, maybe the project has been set aside. And I haven't been on here long enough to know how it usually starts.

I think most of the main organisors of last years awards are still using DD, so fingers crossed. JNP did a great job last year.

If all else fails, you could always put together your own version of The Quacks!

I wouldn't have a clue where to begin, well I would but not the pulling it off aspect. Setting up the boards and voting site and so on, beyond my technical skills. Sure there are other ways to do it but long and tedious. Happy to help someone else do it, but that is my limit.

Well the good thing about the Quack Awards is that you get everybody to vote and then you just ignore the damn votes and pick your own winners!

Awesome, perhaps we should organise a version of the razzies for webcomics... the duckshoot or something.

It would be really nice to have it this year too, especially since it may be our last chance to have "DD" awards, since it's not going to stay Drunkduck for a very long while.

I did a bit of judging last year and some presentation, it was good fun. I don't doubt it will happen and you have started the ball rolling.

I'm currently going through something that won't give me enough time to host the awards on schedule. On May 26th I will have a clearer picture of my potential free time.
I contacted skool and we decided it'd be better to wait and see if I'll be able to have enough time to host the awards. If not we'll try coming up with other suggestions but I'm hoping I can. By that time the new DD or Duck will be up and running. I know it means we won't be able to have an awards while still drunk, but it may also mean we'll have help from Wowio to officially promote it.

Come to think of it I wonder if they could give us some official Duck tools? Like give us our own Awards forum instead of having to go to an offsite forum. And maybe a better voting system within DD itself.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should even ask about that or not. Considering the timing isn't good that may have to wait till next year because they'd probably rather build the new site. On the other hand it would go a long way to PROMOTE the new site like a celebration of the new site along with the awards. A community project on the new duck would be very effective at holding ppl's interest while bugs and kinks are hammered out.

In short the official word on the Awards is that they are delayed. More than likely until June.

It would also be good material for the quackcasts.

All this awards talk is making me wanna work harder. xD

Yeah... I'm a bit up in arms with the site delay. I don't know what to do.

After the site switches I'll see if there is still enough interest to get the awards moving. The forums seem a bit dead after the big crash and the new site announcement. Hoping it'll pick up if it's not as bad as feared.

I think something like this would help get the forum going a bit.

A couple of thoughts, regardless there will still be a site after.

As a lot of the work is done on a separate forum might it be worth proceeding before the change? at least try and drum up interest etc.

I think the sooner we begin, even if it's just talking about it and seeing who's interested and all, the better it is. If we wait for the change we can wait forever. If we start something and the change shakes things up, we can always put things on hold or try to continue sideways and put it up when everything's allright.

Not sure how I could help with this, but I'm totally up for helping once we get this thing rolling.
