Looks good. I like the Joker's face. Looks more realistic, if he would've been doused in acid.

Actually I don't acid would do that to someone in real life. Maybe a base, I believe AgNO3 will ink your skin black or maybe AgCl can't remember.
As for Heath Ledger...dang he really pulled it off. I can now imagine being scared of him. They really made the Joker look like a nutjob screw Tim Burton and his Batman, the man probably never read a Batman book in his life. Christian Bale and Kevin Conroy will always be the Batman for me. I wonder if Heath Ledger will replace Mark Hamill as the best joker.

I know what hydrochloric acid will do to a living body....
Woman guilty of murdering husband with acid
The Schusters co-owned a chemical lab and were in the midst of a bitter divorce.
Prosecutors said Larissa Schuster and her former lab assistant kidnapped her 45-year-old husband on July 10, 2003, knocked him out with a stun gun and chloroform-soaked rag, then dumped his bound body headfirst into a barrel while he was still breathing.
The assistant, James Fagone, told authorities that Larissa Schuster then poured hydrochloric acid into the 55-gallon container.
Fagone said Schuster paid him $2,000 to help rob and assault her husband but he didn't know murder was planned. Schuster testified that Fagone killed her husband by accident and that she only helped dispose of the body.
Fagone was convicted in December 2006 of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
...Can you imagine dissolving from the head down like that, and still being alive?!?

The Joker in this film does NOT get hit with chemicals. It's been confirmed by Micheal Cain that the Joker wears makeup, but is so batshit insane that he never baths, giving it a melted look as the movie progresses.
Also, he is always the Joker, from start to finish. There is no transformation scene. His smile is self carved, or at least rumored to be.
Also, you picked the worst quality vid ever.

So no explanation of why he went insane? Or just no chemicals?
That irks me a little...Joker in every version fell in something. =/ Whatev'. If it's interesting I'll let it go.
I admit, that little scene of Batman driving his batbike to Ledger-Joker and him just turning and watching him is pretty cool. XD

From what I hear, they are basing the movie on The Killing Joke [en.wikipedia.org]. According to the graphic novel, the Joker's origin is this:
The man who will become the Joker is an unnamed engineer who quits his job at a chemical company to become a stand-up comedian, only to fail miserably. Desperate to support his pregnant wife, he agrees to guide two criminals into the plant for a robbery. During the planning, the police come and inform him that his wife has just been electrocuted in a household accident involving an electric baby bottle heater. Grief-stricken, the engineer tries to withdraw from the plan, but the criminals strong-arm him into keeping his commitment to them.
At the plant, the criminals make him don a special mask to become the infamous Red Hood [en.wikipedia.org]. Unknown to the engineer, this disguise is simply the criminals' scheme to implicate any accomplice as the mastermind to divert attention from themselves. Once inside, they almost immediately blunder into security personnel, and a violent shootout and chase ensues. The criminals are gunned down and the engineer finds himself confronted by Batman, who is investigating the disturbance.
Panicked, the engineer deliberately jumps into the chemical plant's toxic waste catch-basin vat to escape Batman and is swept through a pipe leading to the outside. Once outside, he discovers, to his horror, that the chemicals have permanently bleached his skin chalk white, stained his lips ruby red and dyed his hair bright green. This turn of events, compounding the man's misfortunes of that one day, drives him completely insane and results in the birth of the Joker.

She knocked him out with the standard chloroflorm on a cloth bit, so he was still breathing--then doused him in hydrochloric acid. ...Ouch.

There is no real genesis story for the Joker. I think thats one of the things that makes him such a good villan, no one really knows why he's so crazy. Theres been a bunch of different versions of his genesis in non-canon batman media, but in canon they've never really gone into detail.
And actually the interviews with Nolan said they they would be based less on the Killing Joke and more on the very first apperances of the Joker.

Micheal Cain says otherwise. Killing Joke was just SOME of the material Ledger used to get into character, not the basis for the film. And yes, there is no genesis. In the same story the Joker states that his past may just be a fabrication that he made for sympathy.
Nolan stated in a more recent interview that this isn't "Joker Begins". From start to finish it's going to be Bats Vs. Joker.
Trust me, since comic-con I've been following this like a vulture.

But of course, did you expect it to stay there forever and ever until the end of time?
It's still not up on their site. People are guessing the 8 and 28 may mean 8:28, now if it's PM or AM or on what timezone is beyond me. But it will be up.
Also, the exact line from the six minutes.
"He wears make up, to scare people. Like, war paint."
So there you go.

Hi, are you listening to me?
THAT is the same part I SAW, on IMAX, before I AM LEGEND.
He removes the mask at the end, and he has his make up. The goon WITH HIM says the Joker wears make up. You're going off of year old photos taken on camera phones before shots. I'm going off publicly made finished footage.
He wears the clown mask to fool the goons with him into thinking the boss (joker) isn't coming along for the heist. The Joker tells each one in private before the heist to kill specific members of the gang to get a larger cut. But in the end it works out to where the only one left is the Joker, he gets all the money. Hence the mask.
You don't pay attention. You would make a lousy clown.

Or hey, I could post the whole magazine articles where Nolan, Cain and Leger confirm it's make up and not any sort of chemical burn.

I don't think it's weird at all. A well done villan is almost always more interesting than a hero. The hero is easy to understand. The villain is a mystery.
The hero earns our respect and admiration for doing whats just in the face of insurmountable odds, for going into almost certain death because standing idle is not acceptable. We can understand that he has the conviction and the will to do what is right when normal people would shit out. We can understand the hero, he's doing what we wish we could, or would like to believe we would.
The villan is attractive because we want to know how he can justify his outrageous acts. We want to understand what makes him the polar opposite of everything we believe in.
It wasn't until Batman: TAS that I realized that the Joker is perhaps one of the greatest villans of all time. Firstly he's a doppleganger of the hero, everything Batman is, he's the exact opposite, but in so they're connected, they're like a ying-yang. He's the polar negative of batman, it's the same picture, but everything black is white and everything white is black. He's the anti-batman. And the Joker is the pure darkside of man, not only succumbing to the desire to do evil, but getting unadulterated joy from the schadenfreude, and from the sheer absurdity of life and humanity. Which makes him ultimately sublime. The very fact that we can never understand him only makes us want to understand him more.
I'm glad theres no real genesis story for the Joker. There isn't anything they could do that would live up to the persona. The Joker couldn't have always been the Joker, its clear he had to be turned into the Joker by some external event. But as an audience, knowing that event would only take away from the persona it created. The persona of the Joker is so disconnected from a regular person, making that connection makes the persona less vivid.
