I just can't help it to say, that this site is increasingly with great comics!
They are so many, I, hardly, hve the time to read them. I mean, from 2 years ago until now, we have such an amazing library that it is so hard to keep up.
I can open up like 10 comic links, at a time, and find each one worth the reading. This is a great accomplishment to this website which is growing rapidly.
Who thinks the same way about so many great webcomics that are emerging non-stop? Whether the art is good or bad but still, you just can't stop reading those new stuff that are coming up.

Damn, DD is increasingly with great comics, as of late!

Meh. I've only been here a couple of months but I didn't even start putting comics in my favorites section until last week. Kind of took me a while (and a bit of digging) to find what I like but yeah, I enjoy it. Lots of raw talent here...
...i just wish there weren't so many, how do i put it, "faux-manga?" "animu?" "animerican?" Whatever, to each his own.

Some good stuff, some bad stuff, just about everything you'd want you can find here. Some comics come close to professional quality but for one reason or another it misses the mark.

Lots of unsung (or very sung lol! ) talent here! I think most people having their comics up in the Duck has at least something to say through them. I think the quality is definitely on the up and everyone is improving. It's a very exciting thing to watch and be part of :)

I like the Duck because essentially it accomodates most tastes and interests -- and if there's something not represented, someone can always make up a new comic! There's all levels of talent, from beginner- to pro-quality. It's also nice to see the different writers and artists grow and mature in their styles over time -- and try new things.

There are extremely few pro-quality comics/manga here. There is always something I can find that's wrong/deficient, that I won't find in Marvel/DC comics or whatever published manga.
However, that doesn't mean that I'd rather read the pro stuff than the webcomics. Pro stuff always meets its standards, but often all it's worth is the $2.50 I bought it for. Some webcomics have art/story qualities which make me value them more intrinsically, and keeps me coming back.
There is a new non-DD comic I found recently where the author... OMG... she is like my 2 absolute most favorite unknown artists of all time, rolled into one. I've bought illustrated RPG manuals (which I never play or read) just for a few illustrations of those unknown artists. But her writing is not publishable quality.

Yep. I seen a lot of really promising comics. I mean, I only really read strips, and most of them that I've seen are impressive.
Updates Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday's (depends).

Well I personally have to say that about 98-99% of the comics here are no where near pro status. And that's why I'm here. Because we aren't pro's we're amateurs. It's like finding a great band that hasn't made it big yet and feeling like you have found something no one else has. DD is basically the underground for comics. Yeah Marvel, DC, Tokyo Pop, Viz, Darkhorse, etc. all have great comics. But they're all played out. After reading the same reused crap for years ya get tired of it. Sure some of it get innovative and a lot of it is fresh. But it's still mainstream.
I came here to find something that I could at least feel like was made just for me. Something I can tell people about without them saying "Oh yeah I read that last week and I have the whole collection and seventy two actions figures and a special edition lunch box!" No no no. I don't want to hear that.
I want to be able to bring these comics to people and say, "Yeah it's flawed, those lines are off or that's typoed. But who wants perfection? Perfection is boring and if the world were perfect there would be no confrontation. But look at it this way. Would you rather look at a beautiful plant that is perfect in every way every day for the rest of your life, or would you rather plant a seed and see the plant get a little bigger and a little more beautiful every day."
That's how we are. We're budding. So my answer is yes of course there's comics here that hold my attention and don't let go. But they're never that 1-2% that's perfect. Because I know what to expect from them. Perfection. No, I'm more interested in the rest of the comics here. They're the ones that'll keep ya guessing. Cause they'll never be exactly the same. They'll always get better.

DD is basically the underground for comics.
Well said. :)
However sometimes I wished I had been doing MUSIC instead of COMICS.
Because I know this guy who has this rock band... made up of himself and three other guys. Their songs arent as "good" as the ones in the radio and the more popular artists... But still likeable... but I doubt it if somebody will record one or their songs that has lyrics "I GOT RAPED WHEN I WAS 10!!! BWAAAWWWWRRRR!!!!"
Even though... they got a chance to play in some bars... and they are WAYYY more popular than I ever will be as a webcomic creator.
lol but I doubt it... I can't compose a song or melody even if my life depended on it!!! I just tried writing some rhymes that I intended to fall in the rapcore or metalcore categories of music... lol :)
Same thing here. In DD, I've seen comics that WILL NOT BE published or NO WAY IN HELL THIS IS GONNA BE ON TV OR MAINSTREAM MOVIES...
...because of TOO MUCH SEX AND VIOLENCE and perhaps presenting alternative views of the world.
The internet has always been an uncensored medium or at least hard to censor in the countries that censored it... like China, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Canada, Germany, etc... etc... etc...
And yes these online comics may be a good source for alternative entertainment than those published comics.
Seriously, I've seen a few comics here that are better than published comics... and I wont mention them because I dont wanna inflate the author's ego. :)
Its the same thing like in soundclick and other underground metal/hiphop sites... listening to non-mainstream stuff is actually more entertaining. As the radio is dumb as shit. :(

I don't know, people still listen to Slayer.
*badum pish*
Thank you, thank you. I'm here all night.
But seriously, people will publish anything as long as they think someone will buy it... and consumers are stupid and unpredictable so you never know what they'll like next. So, for publishers the only logical answer is to publish everything and anything, regardless of quality, and then cut their losses as soon as it stops selling. It's what happened during the "Boyband Era" of the late 90s.
However sometimes I wished I had been doing MUSIC instead of COMICS.
I think some of the best art comes from record albums. Sometimes I go into old vinyl stores or big cd shops and just look at the front covers of various albums because they're usually pretty avant-garde or "alternative" in style. If you like drawing, you could do all of their album art and if their CD sells, they're entitled to pay you.
So... yeah, to me Drunk Duck is like a massive album store.

There's definably more variety here than other free comic hosting sites.
"As of late" yeah there's quite a few comics that joined with in this year that made it pretty big here.
There's a lot of competition here.
