Daily Sketch/Writing Group

Back (way, way, way, way back) when I frequented Elfwood a lot, I got involved with a group that called themselves the DSG group, which was short for Daily Sketch Group. It was on the Elfwood chat, and the premise went basically like this.

A random word was chosen using some 'bot program they'd set up with hundreds of words. Then, you had 30, 60 or 90 minutes to sketch or write something based on that one single word or phrase.

It was a BLAST, and very difficult at first. Especially since I'm a writer, and had to come up with a full short story (I'm no poet) in the allotted time... but it was a heck of a lot of fun.

Does anyone around here do anything like that?

I don't do anything like that but it seems awfully fun

conceptart has a daily sketch group, and penciljack has a weekly sketch group...I prefer the weekly format, allows for more people to get in on it easier and keep up with it. 3 topics are given, people can sketch whichever topic they choose.

Oh, I couldn't find either of those users in the user-finder.

that'd be easy, just throw out an idea or something like...

an admiral overseeing a battle.

here are a couple ones we could vote on for the weekly sketch/writing group.

1) The virgin intimates an intense haircut. The affair flies! Outside the incorporated container zooms the coupled sound. A cat worries about a body

2) Behind your collected raid enters the keyed liquid. The countryside cores whatever orchestra. The birth collapses within the terrorist. The humane chest instructs any opera. How can a crime pray an impossible object? The tune reigns below the teenager

3) Demons smashes Angels after another horizon. Demons spins outside a sudden peasant. The welcome parses Demons. How will Demons scratch Angels? The edge light stirs in the mortal electronics. Whatever wine profiles the west.

4) Angels floats the overflow opposite a holding anomaly. Demons conforms with the cult. Demons thirsts for Angels around an unpredictable invalid. How can Demons surround a force

Would we have to do the whole paragraph? Some of those lines would be fun to interpret but not all of them.

Sign me up either way.

the whole paragraph would be for the writers, but the lines can be taken for themselves.

I've got a calendar that just gives you trivia to draw from every day. Honestly, it's been alot more fun that a situation+character+thing format.

when we were doing it, we literally were going off of only just a word or two. Instead of giving you a whole situation, which I don't necessarily like... you got to wrap yourself around just a single word and let what comes out happen.

I'll start things out if everyone wants me to on Monday of next week (since work's being total HELL this week), and we'll give it, say, until Wednesday for people to finish things up and post em. Sound good?

why hasnt this thing started already? seriously, just go "todays topic is combat" and see what people come up with for the day. or if you want it to be longer make it a week. all this planning and waiting is just making me lose interest.
