It's bound to happen someday. Better now than later.

But...but... I want the mavericks to kill us. Not cyborgs. *Looks Sad*
I'm Zoro! Upper left is Hunter, Upper Right is Zeke, Lower left is Shadow, and Lower right is Rage.

im gettting a newstopic not found so i'll just go with what i can....

personaly ive always thught it would be awsome if they could invint a game that was kind of like the matrix (where you play with youre mind and have full mobility) just without the possiblity of dying or getting surgery so they could stick somthing in the back of youre head.

I wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon. Even modern control methods which detect brainwaves to do simple actions like move a mouse cursor on screen are not as intuitive as you might think. For something as advanced as the Matrix, we would need to make major advances in not only understanding how the brain works, but also in computer software and simulated physics. Also, something on the level of the Matrix which simulates the sensations of a virtual world would require something much more invasive. It has to input data as well as receive output from the brain.

You can input complex data to the brain through the standard methods already though... Touch, taste, hearing, smell, and sight ;)
As well as the sense of movement: The inner ear.

You can manipulate all of those externally and in theory you could create complex illusions of "reality" that way. But "output" is limited to speech and movement. That might be where the computer control could come in- to enhance what you can get from your "output".

Still, in that way it's not all "inside" the brain, and even if doing it that way would be easier, it's probably still pretty far from what we can achieve right now.

well i never really said its somthing that was going to happen soon. just that it would be awsome to have happin :) i relize that we are pretty far off from any thing like it.
