I wrote this for shrinking an avatar, but it works the same:
If you are using windows and you don't have anything like Photoshop, GIMP or any other advanced image editing software:

Locoma
go to "start > all programs > accesories > paint", from paint choose "open" and browse your documents for the picture you want, open it and then go to "image > stretch/skew". If you shrunk it too much, go to "edit > undo" and try again
once it's shrunk go to "save as" and save it as "JPG" or "JPEG" type, different name, same folder

I just viewed your site briefly. Also keep this in mind. If you don't want readers to have to scroll to the right and left to keep reading your comic, keep the width to 700 pixels wide or less. I generally use 500 pixels wide, but I letter pretty big (my eyes are not what they used to be). To find out the width of any image, go to the image file and right click it. Then click on "Properties" and it will display the dimensions of the image.
