I tried to post a new comic tonight and it won't upload. I just get a broken image. Is this a widespread problem? I know this happened months back.

It currently happens every week. I'll report it as soon as I'm home. :(

I've tested it and you're right, it's currently not working. I did test it a few hours earlier and it was working fine, so this hasn't been going on long today.

This is giving me a hard time too. Hope it's fixed soon. :)

Any idea what keeps causing the problem? Gremlins?

I think they're a bit mystified. It's just the image server filling up again, but each time they clear a lot of space and can't figure out why it fills up again so fast. They're nearly done with a 'permanent solution' but I think they're probably distracted with SDCC preparation lately.

IMO this kind of thing is one of the arguments in favor of image filesize caps :]

I just posted a new page for my comic strip and it wont show! It has that boxed X in red and when i right click and click on show image it does nothing. Please help!

(Unrelated comment: the new Flash-y uploader is a pain in the ass--doesn't remember titles you've entered before (in Firefox), and opens the file requester in a different folder than file uploaders on other sites.)

I too am having problems with new page-adder! I uploaded a weeks worth of pages all at once, a few days ago, and two things went wrong:
1 - At the time of uploading, pages showed up on my page list in random order, rather than the order they were supposed to appear according to the "live dates" so I had to spend an extra minute re-arranging them. Small inconvenience, so what?
2 - Today, the first one of those newly-uploaded pages is SUPPOSED to be live in Zandar's Saga. I can click "edit" on it, and everything is there (image, title, author's witty comment) and the Live Date is TODAY. But the page has not gone live. Yesterday's page is the last one as far as viewers can tell.

OK guys, thanks for letting us know. that random-order thing sounds like a problem too. I've let their programmer know.

This happened to me too, but I don't think the pages are ordered randomly. They're simply ordered in the sequence they were uploaded. If you upload several pages at once, some will upload faster than others, but this doesn't have anything to do with the set date of the page. However, the page uploaded last will appear on the top of your list, next will be the second-to-last etc.

So: Yup, it is a problem, but it isn't random :P

That's odd, that never happened to me when I was preloading multiple pages at once. Then again that was a couple years ago. :[

OK, the work-around for that is to upload one page at a time.- OR, wait until they all finish uploading and then reorganise them via the up/down arrows.

Still broken! I have tried both ways but neither works!

ugh. OK, that's the image bug. That is very bad and We'll report it ASAP.

But let's get this straight: it's completely unrelated to any problems with the uploader. It's an extremely annoying and painful issue, but a separate one.
The only place where they meet is keeping comics off the site :(

Just use the old uploader which is linked directly from the upload page, then it WILL come up on the front page.

The uploader is currently giving me troubles. It seems that when I try to upload a page nothing happens. Is anyone else having this problem at the moment?

Well as usual 1337 has to go and find something else that's going on.

When I add a page in the "old" version, in both old versions, it does not send the page in at all. When I send it in with the new uploader it shows our little friend the red x. And no matter how many times I re upload it it will not show.

Same with the files system not having the uploaded file appear.
I believe I complained about that just a little while ago.

I did get a page in today using the newest old uploader but it was a jpg and on a different comic. The new image is a png and will not go through.

Yes, that's the image bug. Apparently there's a script set to clear space (either continuously or as it detects space is needed) and it can't keep up with the uploading, or something. So the bug keeps happening. If you're able to intermittently upload a a page or file it's because you've snagged a bit of space that's just been freed up.

We've reported it though, so hopefully it will get cleared up soon.
