My latest pages have had brighter colors than I usually work with. When I compress them to upload they aren't as smooth as they were in the original file. What can I do to prevent this?

They're compressed though which gives you a lower filesize but also some artifacts.

Since your colors are so simple you might want to try png on the 64 colors setting, will be smooth and possibly smaller filesize.

i usually warn against using .png since most people don't understand that smaller filesize>few more pixels that only the artist notices

64 color setting didn't work but saving in .PNG was a miracle worker! My colors look more vibrant than ever. Thanks :3
